Any news on the USA F30 diesels?

I just got back from Germany last night after a two week vacation. Let me say, the Autobahn is awesome and Germany has excellent drivers! While there we stopped by the BMW museum and showroom and they had the new 330d on the showroom floor. I'm hoping this comes to the states. We rented an Audi TDI while there and got great MPG. I'm really hoping the 330d or even the 320d model comes to the states to replace by wife's IS250...

I would say it is not likely to happen. In BMW's eyes the ActiveHybrid 3 will fill the market of those looking for better fuel economy.

No official news yet; Audi is bringing TDI to nearly their entire US lineup over the next couple of years though. If there's no replacement for the 335d when it comes time to upgrade, I may be looking at an A6 TDI.
With Audi, Chevrolet, and Jeep offering new diesel choices for the USA this would be an odd time for BMW to get out of that market.

Nothing concrete yet regarding F30 diesels, but the 7 Series will be getting its first diesel model for the US market. Could help pave the way for an F30 diesel

I test drove both the 320d and 328i before making my final decision. We have both models in Oz. The diesel is hugely impressive with its low rpm torque and fanatastic low fuel consumption. It almost matches the 328i in most normal driving. I settled on the 328 as it was slightly smoother and less rattly near idle and the performance is just that bit better.

That's great news. Hopefully it'll be the newer high-output version (306hp).

"When we last asked BMWNA about a possible F30 diesel for the U.S., their response was "our last outgoing model [e90] was very successful with the diesel so we’re thinking about it."
But the e90 diesel was an miserable failure according to some people here.

I sure hope they decide to bring in a diesel sooner than later, I'm determined to wait, hopefully it won't be longer than a year away...

If the US gets a diesel 3er, it'll almost certainly be the 330d. I'll buy a 330d touring if they bring it here. That said, I was blown away by the 328, I'd probably settle for that too

Me too! As much as I love the E90 335d, I really wish there was a four cylinder diesel in the US.

Hard to say. The 335d was a great car but didnt do too well in the US. I think price is what really hurt it. BUt I hope to se another D here form BMW. So maybe a 330d.

Plust the N20 already gets awesome milage, whats going to make anyone here pick a diesel for more money. Its also more expensive on the repairs. But Im still hoping for one.
