Scratch on my black 335i
Hi guys,
Financed my first car ever at the age of 19 and I'm loving the new thrill of being more and more independent. With this officially being my first car, I would love to take care of it. While I was driving, a huge truck passed me and rocks came flying by and scratched my car. I looked around and found this: It's attached below, I was looking into getting it filled but it looks deep enough to the paint.. any suggestions? |

Get the factory touch-up kit - color + clear. Clean the chip well, removing any loose paint, add a small dab of color, little by little (allow time to dry), top off with clear.

Silly question. Have you checked to see if its chipped or simply marred? Can you run your fingernail over the chip and feel the chunk taken out of the paint?
If not, you can polish it out. If so, touch up time. Thats a big spot though. Going to be very difficult to touch up unless your a pro. |

I contacted my friend that works at the dealership and he said he can give me a deal with some touch up paint, and yeah I ran my finger through it and I felt a chunk of it off.

Definitely looks like it's through the clear, color, and base coat. I'd touch that up right away - it won't look pretty, but definitely much less of a hassle compared to completely respraying the (front left?) fender.
Main thing is you don't want the upcoming winter to start eating away at the exposed metal and rusting out that panel! |
