Help me make this decision regarding new rims!

Hello fellow forum members!

I am really on the fence in making a decision on which rim size to purchase for my 2015 BMW 335i!

I am purchasing a set of Modulare B18 tinted brush rims very soon and cannot decide between the 19 inch and the 20 inch rims. This is where I need some experienced members opinions on what size will look best on my f30. I know there are alot of 19 inch rims vs 20 inch threads all over the forums but from what I read people are comparing the comfort aspect to the aesthetic appeal. In this particular case I am solely making my decision on the looks ! I want to know opinions on which size rim would look better on the f30-I don't want to regret my decision later by going to big or to small. I have not seen very many 20 inch rims on the f30 (in person) and the pictures only give me a slight idea of what it will look like in person. I know if I had a 4 series or a grand coupe I would be 100% with the 20 inch rims but I am a bit concerned that they may look big in retrospect to my 335i.

For reference I have attached a picture of my f30 below. I am currently running with a set of 19 inch BMW OEM 403M wheels with run flats-will change to Michelin super sports when I get the new wheels.

The following picture is the exact rim-same color and style-that I will be purchasing-they are shown in 19 inch size

The following pictures are how the 19 inch rims will look on a f30-note that I did not include the coupe body style for this comparison. The last 2 pictures show how the rims will look on a car very similar to mine-I will be adding that yellow M performance brake kit soon

Unfortunately I was unable to find a 20 inch picture for the f30 for reference

Those are all the pictures I could find for reference. Please give me your opinions! I want to make the correct choice the first time and would really appreciate any input! Once again this is a aesthetic upgrade and I am not concerned with any other factors!

it is all about personal preference. It is unfortunate you can't see a set of 20's in person for comparison. I am not a big fan of 20" rims on 3 series. If you like the look of the 20's because it fills the wheel well better, consider a slight drop with the 19's.

Like I said, it is all personal preference...I like a meaty tire, so I would opt for the 19's. I am not a huge fan of the rubber band look with tires and you would most likely have to do that with the 20's....just my 2 cents.

I think the 19's in the last picture look great!

Agree with the poster above. I think 19s will look better than 20s. The last pic looks good because the car has M performance brakes and a nice drop.

Thank you for the replies!

I searched through the forums and the closest I can find to matching this style of rim in 20 inch are the following pictures-seems like these all have a moderate drop as well

Let me know what you guys think.

I had 20's on mine after I bought it, but didn't really like it. Looked a little too "baller" for my taste not to mention it road like crap. I switched to 19's and have been very please with the look and feel.

I agree with everyone so far. I personally am not a fan of 20' wheels. 19's look the best imo. But everyone has their own taste. I think 18's look too small and 20's look too big. 19 is perfect. But go with what you like the best! Good luck and post pics when you get those bad boys on!!!

Wow! Seems like everyone really is into the 19 inch option! I may need to head in that direction. From what I read 19 and 20 is the sweet spot for the f30's, my current 19's look great just wasn't sure if this wheel design might appear small as 19 since it is pretty spaced out.

+1 - also suggest 19" wheels. 20" wheels and tires with shorter side wall will transmit more road imperfections. It depends on how much you are willing to accept it. There are options to make the experience somewhat better: non RFT tires, coilovers with individually adjustable dampening and rebound controls.
