BMW apps
Perhaps I'm not searching correctly but I can't seem to find the difference between connected drive, BMW remote, BMW Internet (I think that's what it's called). Are these all marketing terms for the same thing? Is these separate apps? Are they even apps?
Any links or explanation would be greatly appreciated. |

BMW remote is a mobile phone application that allows you to
1) locate your car within a .6 mile radius 2) lock / unlock your car (unlocking requires calling BMW) 3) make the horn beep or headlights flash 4) send an address to the cars navigation system. BMW Internet is an actual internet subscription in your car, using a built in web browser in iDrve. From what ive seen, its actually shitty and doesnt work well. Connected Drive is an interaction between the car and your phone via the "ConnectedDrive" app. It allows iDrive to connect to Pandora, Facebook, Twitter and a few more apps. hope this clarifies things for you

Remote and connected drive a completely different apps. Connected has to be connected to your car and enables all your apps to be used through the car (like pandora, twitter, facebook..). Connected also tells you your car stats after you unplug it from your car (fuel econ, fuel level) and you can upload a gps destination and it gives you walking directions called "the last mile". BMW remote doesn't need plugged into your car and basically tells you where the car currently is, allows your to honk horn or flash lights, and allows you to lock unlock the car. Im not sure truly what BMW Internet is, but it is not a standalone app rather the "ConnectedDrive Service". I think the car has a SIM card in it and can access the web.
