Does anybody have any experience with CarPlay mmi for EVO units? I was running an andream unit on my 320i NBT and it worked great. Now I want to upgrade my 340i EVO with CarPlay but not sure which way to go. I haven't seen much discussion for the EVO units.

for my f87 2017 EVO ID5, but another user already told me he sent its back because doesnt work at all. Maybe his was faulty?

I'll report back as soon as I install it. Currently is in perpetual customs delay in BRASIL so, dont hold your breath (from china to italy via brasil...)

Keep me posted. I may purchase one as well if everything works out. Hopefully, development picks up as it did with the original andream unit. The custom firmware for those units is nice.

Still looks a bit suspect as it tells us to use the AUX input. Problem is (at least my) NBT EVO ID6 units don't have an AUX any more and you are supposed to get an additional aux->USB sound card and wire the 3.5 output jack of the unit to the USB card and then hook that up to one of the USB ports.

the description is copied/paste from earlier device. The seller says it works without any additional harness AND with oem touchscreen if equipped

Interesting. I've dropped them a message now asking the following:
1. Does this interface support NBT EVO ID6
2. How does the sound work since this setup has no touch input
3. Does the touchscreen work on AA/Carplay side
4. Is wireless AA supported

Will let you know how I get on.

I asked same thing, plus androidauto widescreen DPI question, if it shows the correct side panel or fullscreen streched like first versions of older interfaces for NBT units.

For now he told me "androidauto depends on your phone" and I replied that THEY made an update for widescreen issue and to check with tech support... Let'see

because I already disputed once with one chinese seller and dont want to do it again.

Andream seems he doesnt even know what he is selling, see the different answers to the same questions few post above, and AA is still stretched.

Bimmertech was really responsive to all my answers via email

That makes sense. What about just going OEM route? Looks like there's a use selling oem CarPlay for about 1K. Do you think it's worth it spending the extra cash for oem?

Same as Floc, Andream don't give consistent answers.

I'm after Android Auto, which the oem route doesn't offer. If were after Carplay I'd have just bought the service from the connected drive store.

I don't need carplay, I need wireless androidauto as well. Otherwhise I would go for sure with oem!

Since black friday is approaching, some discounts are already starting to appear and it's a good time to buy a MMI.

Andream has a 25 eur discount making the unit cost 214 eur, although the same device (confirmed from Andream) is being sold through ewaying where they offer 20 eur discount so that the final price is 198 eur (at least on the German version of their website, .de not .com).

The interesting thing is that Andream (ww.android-car-dvd.de) says that the SKU for the NBT version is EW-BMCP-NBT01A. Does this mean that they still sell the A unit? can someone confirm this if he/she bought an Andream unit from this website recently and got the A unit.

Quick update: Andream responded saying that they have only one NBT SKU and it's EW-BMCP-NBT02B-F30, meaning B unit. Anyway, I just ordered Carlinkit from Aliexpress, seller Official Carlinkit Store, and I'll just have to hope for the best! but I'm looking forward to trying out the custom firmware v2.0

good luck with carlinkit... He sent my package around the world and took 2 months wit ha dispute to give my money back. And just sold a defective unit to another user.
