What to point out is that in the latest KSW firmware v1.4.4 (as of June 2023), split screen, and Torque Pro via Bluetooth are finally working!

Hi Shaman,

I successfully updated my HU to 1.4.4 and tried my BT OBD adapter (works great with the phone). Is there some trick/workaround needed to connect via BT to the adapter as I still have the same problem like with the previous FW versions.
Android BT environment don't have any option to pair the new BT device and BT from the taskbar redirects me to the KSW Phone BT app. The Torque Pro is also not able to find any devices that are not paired (just seeing my phone).
As a workaround, I bought a bimmerlink OBD adapter that runs via WIFI (works good with the HU), but the downside is that you are not able to use the SIM 4G Internet connection + OBD Wifi at the same time. When you connect to the wifi, it disables the SIM Card internet connection.

Hi All, Where do you recommend to purchase one of these upgraded displays for the F30? I have a 2017 320i that I would like to upgrade the display on. I've read too much on "fake" units that do not operate well and I dont want to purchase the wrong one.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Hi Everyone, Glad to see an A12 dedicated forum. I have an A12 running 1.4.4 NEXAI. Running great, just one issue and for the life of me, cannot figure it out...

I have my hotspot turned on on my phone. I get into the car, turn the unit on, it boots. However, the WiFi is always greyed out. I need to swipe down from main menu and hit the WiFi to turn on and then it connects to my Phone's Hotspot.

In the Android settings of unit, I have Automatically connect to Network Turned On.

Is there something I am missing here?? Been pulling my hair to figure out the issue...

I'd also like to know please. Feel kind of overwhelmed.

Currently have a 6.5 screen, entrynav2 unit, which is stuck on 2018-1 EUROPE Way maps.

It works out cheaper for me to upgrade via Android screen.

I was looking at this one: Blu-Ray 8G 128G 10.25 or this one EVO 8Core 6G 128G. Anybody got any better recommendations?

Read the first post on Android 10 thread. It's a little bit outdated in terms of hardware spec but it gives you a pretty decent visual comparison.

Not really, I've been in this "business" for 4 years or so and only genuine units have this style upper bar. If they wanted to fake that as well they would have done it ages ago.

With AliExpress stores, it's a mixed bag really. Most stores carry both genuine and fake units, often on the same listing and you have to be careful which option you're selecting. In the end, it's just business to them and every unit sold, regardless of what that is, counts. That's why I and a few others do not recommend any particular stores or sellers. We can give you hints on what to pay attention and if you post any links we will tell you whether that's something worth your money or not, but won't point to a specific listing or store ourselves.

So pay attention to these small visual details and makes sure the listing clearly says it's a Snapdragon 662 or 665 unit running Android 12 (some older models will have the same hardware spec but are Android 11 instead - I don't think there are many left though).

Does anyone have a solution to the above issue or is it just the way the WiFi setting works?

Just wondering, trying to learn and absorb as much as I can these past 3-4 months on these Head Units.

I must say, glad I found these forums on BimmerPost.com

I will try to take some pictures later of the unit I have and post them here along with the CPU and GPU information.


If I recall the screen looks like the "Genuine" one, but I don't want to say for sure until I take the pics and info.

However, I do need to point out, in terms of support or customer service on Aliexpress and/or Alibaba. It is almost non-existent, you basically need to do all your research and troubleshooting yourself.

I have a feeling either I got lucky or the other possibility is that the pictures on their site is simply generic pictures. I noticed when I was looking at replacing and buying an Android head unit. Many of the sites all had the same pictures, it was literally a copy/paste of pics...

But it's a buyer beware and ask lots of questions, if you are in the market of upgrading your head unit!!
