Guys,

I just upgraded my CIC iDrive ( F30 328i 2012 ) to a Android 12 Head Unit.

Unit Info:

MCU Ver : 023055dgs-nbt-dc-220601g
App Ver : Ksw-S-M600_OS_v1.3.9NEXAI
System Ver : 12-662EA-868927052215147
Model : 8GB / 128 GB

I have seen the threads on similar chinese devices and have the following questions.

a. Is this a fake unit ?

b. Anyway to find out about the CPU etc ?

c. Is there a manufacturer website where we can get more info?

d. My main aim was to use this unit for;

- Waze, DashBoard Speed/RPM Display and Play MP3s

d1. Waze is working fine ( connects to my phone via its hostpot )
d2. Dashboard ( Speed / RPM ) is fine
d3. Music - How do we transfer files from my android phone to the android head unit ? So that i can mp3 file there in various folders to play music ?

d. Is it possible to edit the Main Home Screen and remove default widgets ?
I know u can shift some around and delete some. I would like to delete the 'HD Video' widget.

e. What do you guys do with the 'Telephone' Widget ? Currently the CIC iDrive still controls my phone calls etc.

f. Anyone here integrated a wireless TMPS with this Android Head Unit ? Care to share some info ?

g. The iDrive part of the AHU still flickers when i switch over to it ? Any fixes ? The installer is floundering on this part. Friendly guy but the install was problematic.

x.) I admit i did not get sufficient info on the unit before making the purchase, hence these questions. Paid approx 513.20 USD inclusive of a reverse parking camera and installation charges.

Hi. I saw that thread earlier but its about Android 11 ? Whilst mine is Android 12 ? Will this be ok ?

Anyway ... Done ... hopefully i dont get hammered.

Hi Macrozen, I wanted to change my unit as well. Could you tell me your brand and model of your android unit?

My car is also F30 328i 2012 (September) but don’t know which Idrive version I have. Is your original screen and controller look like the below? Do you have the 4 or 6 pins LVDS. Thanks
