New Jersey inspection

Was wondering if anyone knows a place that can pass me on inspection. I'll be installing a cat delete very soon on my 435. North New Jersey preferably, thank you.

Are you serious? Do you have any idea how much trouble a shop could get in?

You better watch out. Some northern jersey shops that might do the kind of work your inquiring about also have large enterprising families---if you know what I mean.

Let's just say they enjoy the braciola.

+1. I know that if I was involved in an illegal activity that at the very least would get my license as an inspection station pulled I wouldn't want it posted on a public forum.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll have to ask people in person that actually have cat deletes.

Or just get it inspected prior to the cat delete. Not sure what you would do next year tho.

Yeah, but when you move there you have to check your brains at the border.

I haven't had a car inspected since 1994. Most cops never even notice it expired. Just keep the new car sticker and cross your fingers.

The problem of course is what will happen if he gets into an accident where the workmanship or the quality of the brakes are questioned.

What would otherwise be a typical unavoidable accident will end up with a felony murder conviction facing the death penalty.

No sir. Get that car inspected. It ain't worth facing the chair.

Umm; no.
Brakes are not part of the inspection process in NJ. This state's inspection is just an emissions check.

I didn't get a warm and fuzzy the last time I was doing 80 on the Garden State, being passed by junker after junker. Now to find out that they probably had bald tires, no brakes, bad ball joints and tie rods and Lord knows what other defects is enough to keep me out of Jersey entirely, no matter how good the pizza and gabbagool is.

I'm confused ... do we need to get yearly inspections @ NJ given that it is a new car? My sticker says I'm valid until 7/19.

They stopped annual inspections years ago. I think new cars are now good for five years so you are good until 2019 if that is what the sticker says. After that it is emissions only every other year. Glenn posted a link above.

Cant you get a high flow cat installed instead? I mean you are looking for air flow right?

We only get smog checks out here in CA every 2 years for older cars. No one cares if the thing has good brakes, etc as long as the sniff test doesn't pollute, you're good to go run into someone
