it is separate from your order and can either be installed by you or the dealer.

Not sure about the exchange as yet but I suppose you keep your originals. Talk to your CA to see what they can work out for u.

I just called the 800 number and it said the vehicle is in transit does that mean im on a boat?

If you go to the link below and put in your VIN # in the cargo ID, you can see if your car is on a WW ship (I don't know if it takes a day or so to show up). You can also use % for a wild card like WBA3A4D34CS344% the % covers the last # of vin:

My status on the 800# went back to being at the port. Checked my CA and he said its at the port so i guess I missed the Grand Mercury

That has been my story. The 1-800 has been telling me my car is being transported to the port of exit for going on two week. My CA said his computer shows Production ended, Not shipped. SO I give up. I will just keep checking.

You may have to go to Customer Centre and click on Track and Trace to get the Track bar to show.

Nice I am still waiting on mine. This boat left after the grand mercury and getting here 5 days before. Worth the disappointment of not getting on the Grand Mercury

My mid March 335 order (week 16 or17 build slot) has finally left production and is now on a truck headed to port in Germany. So thread stalkers/talkers my questions are:

Was that a long time to be in production for a week 16 or 17 build? (today is week #17 of the year, but on April 11th it started production, so is a 14 day build normal or excessive)?

Next, how long will it take to get to port now?

How long until I get on a ship?

Once on a ship I can track the ship to the westcoast with my VIN, right?
How long on average for the long west coast voyage?

Finally, I am in Seattle, WA.... How long is the transport truck to get my car to my dealer in puget sound?

The waiting is killing me.... But I am excited for my 2012 (F30) 335i Imperial Blue sport / black leather - red stitch with Sport Auto8 w/ paddles, adaptive M suspension, adaptive steering, premium pkg, cold weather pkg, Harmon Kardon PS, & 397 18"s to be under my extremely heavy foot... Especially if I take her to Seattle/Pacific Raceway the first Weekend for some proper break in! Wooohaaaaa! Braaaaaaappppppp!

plus I will use the 300 dollar bmw test drive discount car in addition to the u s a a 1500 dollar discount if I can squeeze that 1 out of the dealership, but I don't see how they can deny me a valid discount, if I present it... thoughts???

P.S. My car doesn't have nav, so we get the corny looking black knob ( no chrome on it ).... But I bought a broken upgraded (better looking one that comes with the tech package) controller from Ebay.... can I switch out the knobs easily?

Also, will the upgraded controller with more bottoms on top fit into the slot that the downgraded one fits in, perfectly (if I got it working), and if it does can I have the same functionality on the extra buttons it has like "phone", etc? and would the Nav button just be dead or can it be Re-wired or Re-mapped to a different function of my choosing like a direct button to bring up the EQ that comes with the HK PS?

I got a like 4.something% off MSRP so u did ok.

I have no idea if you can change the iDrive knob but I doubt it. Checkout that 335i timeline thread and see if your transport questions can be answered there.

I am hoping I can get the $300 BMW apps (test drive code) & the USAA $1500 car buying service discount too, so that would bring my $51,445 MSRP price down from the 4% discount price of $49,387 down to $47,587 which may be under invoice but I will try to get them to do it....
