Anyone else with this small issue?

I noticed this last night. I pulled up at a restaurant, I was directly in front of the main glass doors and I noticed in the reflection what appeared to be only 1 fog lamp was lit!

I always keep my lights on Auto, and never keep the fogs on, so I found it strange my fogs were on. The green lamp on the cluster for the fogs was not lit. Just the one fog lamp . So I pushed the fog button and the other one came on. I pushed it off and only one went out. Crazy right. I did this in neutral, drive, and reverse. while my girlfriend checked.

I got home backed into the garage cycled the car on and off and cycled the lights from auto to manyally on and now it seems to be working fine.

They are cornering lights. Turn left/right below 45mph and the left/right fog will illuminate to give you extra visibility. Signal left/right also does this below 45mph.

In R, they will both illuminate.

it could be adaptive fog lamps (I think the f30s have them)
coming from an x5 whenever my steering wheel is turned a certain direction, let's say left, the left fog light would turn on to sort of illuminate the ground to the left some more. same with the right

But I was at a complete stop. I honestly did not take note of what position the steering wheel was in.

Wow, I knew I had adaptive headlights but I had no clue that the fogs do that as well

I never noticed, I guess I never parked if front of glass doors to notice until now.

EDIT: Note that the picture above I posted is my car sitting in my driveway, in Park and the wheels are straight, so wouldnt that rule out the cornering adapive fog part out?

Easy test - did you make a right turn into your driveway?

When I backed in the wheel was spun to the right and then straightened out after. Ill test this when I get home, thats pretty cool that even the fogs are adaptive. Learn something new everyday

You had your steering wheel turned to the right, the fogs light up as cornering lights.

Well like I said you learn something every day. Had no clue about this. But I guess thats on me for not looking over the manual a little bit better. Nice to know thats part of the feature of adaptive headlamps.

is there a way to code the fogs to not do that? i dont want to drive during the day with the fog lights on all the time... but then if i leave them off only one side comes on.

It doesn't happen during the day if your lights are on auto. It has to be dark out. ANd Im sure you can code it. Check out the sticky of COding DIY.

So it's only at when this happens. Can't wait to take delivery of my car n find out myself.

I'm trying to gather together all the coding I want to do so I can do them at once after I get the car.

That post is so long to look through for coding about fog lights haha.
