Anti-Dazzle Auto Headlights Help

OK, so I am getting the coding bug. Having coded a few relatively straight forward items, I want to try the anti-dazzle headlights but have some concerns about the extra steps this involves.

What is FA/VO coding and how is this different from coding the CAFD files?

Does anyone have a step-by-step procedure specifically written to complete these coding steps. I have only seen bits and parts and would like to be more prepared before doing this.

Thanks in advance.

James.

Is your car equipped with automatic high beam (aka high beam assistant)?

1. Follow the document "How to change FA in F-series car". This document should come with e-sys.

2. In step #6 of the doc, delete 5AP and 8S4.

3. Complete all the steps in the doc.

4. Now that you have modified the FA of your car, you are now ready to VO code some modules. These are the modules you will be VO coding: FEM_BODY, FLA (if you don't have the Driver Assistance Package) or KAFAS2 (if you have the Driver Assistance Plus package that comes with a more advanced camera for active driving assistant).

5. Follow the e-sys "Getting started coding" doc.

6. Skip all the steps until Step #9 (this is the step to read the FA)

7. Do Step #10.

8. In Step #11, right click on the module FEM_BODY (the main module, not the CAFDXXXXX) and then select "Code". You are now VO coding the FEM_BODY module. Any changes you previously made in the FEM_BODY module will be reset back to factory so you will have to re-do your coding. Repeat the same for the FLA or the KAFAS2 module.

9. Re-do the coding you previously did in the FEM_BODY module.

One more question ktula,

My car is a lease car. I just found another thread that describes how to make the changes without VO coding back to the car.

Would you recommend that, or is it straightforward to follow the same procedure to add 5AP and 8S4 back in when I return the car?

Thanks.

All fixed. I completed the coding today using Frogman's method of not having to write the modified FA back to the car.

Initial indication suggests it is working well, but I need more time to monitor effects properly.

Thanks for the guidance.
