Question What kind of monthly payment should I expect?

Hey guys,

I plan on going into a dealership tomorrow to order my first bimmer. Anyway, this is what I plan to order:

2014 328i xDrive
M-Sport with Estoril Blue
Premium Package (with Black Dakota Leather)
Lighting Package
Technology Package
Heated Front Seats
Park Distance Control
Rear View Camera

So if I were to negotiate to get the car at invoice, what kind of monthly should I be looking at? I figured its better to ask here, that way when I walk in tomorrow, I can aim for a deal to make that others would think is good

Thanks!

Lot of different variables will depend on that. Down payment, rate, term, trade

Ah, that's right. To make it easy, lets say it was:
$0 Down Payment
36 month lease with 10k/yr
No trade-in

What state? tax rate? and how do they calculate tax on a lease in your state?

New Jersey. This is a quote from NJ's motor vehicle commission:
Quote:
Sales Tax - 7% sales tax based on the purchase price of the vehicle is required. If a trade-in is
indicated on the dealer’s invoice, subtract the trade in price from the price of the new vehicle and
calculate the sales tax based on the adjusted price. If you paid the sales tax to the state where the
vehicle was purchased, include the receipt made out to the purchaser. If you paid less than 7%, you
must pay the difference to New Jersey.
And also this is the policy of taxes on leases in NJ:
Quote:
On a lease, the tax is only on the amount of the payments and other
taxable items that you may pay for separately. However, there is no
tax paid in the beginning on the residual value. Thus, if the
consumer wishes to keep the vehicle at the end of the payment
portion of the contract there is no additional sales tax due on a
balloon-note vehicle, but on a lease there is tax on the residual purchase price

Regarding Tax: Typically it's just going to be .07 times your monthly payment added to your monthly payment.

It depends on LOTS of factors, though. I would build the car on BMWNA, and then subtract about $75-100 a month from the estimated lease payment. You can probably attain that deal at $500 over invoice from my experience, including active incentives, if you are able to get these ... But with 2014's production allocations going fast, and you being closer to NYC metro, I wouldn't expect to get it at invoice at this time.

Seeing as it's pretty loaded I would estimate $500 with nothing down as being a realistic payment for what you have for options with nothing down.

It really depends. Google.

If you already own a BMW, you can get loyalty: $750
Recent graduate: $1,000
Turn Key, if you finance through BMW FS: $500
Ultimate drive event (google for this): $1,000

Turn key is only for leasees whose lease has 30 days or less until turn in date
