245/40/19 Square set up

Hello All,

I have a set of brand new 245/40/19 tires sitting in my garage.
Would this set up fit my F30 328i XDrive? Will there be any issues?
And what size wheels should they go on?

Thank you all for your input!

What's the wheel specs - offset/thickness? Is your car lowered?

I have 19x8.5 wheels all around, ET35, lowered on Dinan springs. Running 245/40/19 Pilot Sport AS3s. No issues whatsoever.

I would recommend 245s to be installed on 8.5-9.5 inch wheels.

Overall tire/wheel diameter for all F30's is 26".

245/40/19 has a 26.7" diameter.
That means overall size will be .7" greater on the same 19" wheel.
Your speedometer will likely be off.
It will also affect your engine rpm at any given speed.
The engine RPM will be lower as the larger tire diameter changes the final "gearing" ratio.
You'll get a bit slower acceleration, but you'll get lower running RPM, so a small bump in MPG.
The larger tire will also give longer wear as there will be less revolutions per mile.

I don't know if the added diameter will cause any rubbing on big bumps, but given that the AWD 3's sit taller to begin with, that may not be an issue.

As for AWD, it requires that all 4 tires have the same diameter to keep the system balanced. The larger diameter shouldn't be a problem for the AWD system, as long as they are all the same.

His location is Brooklyn, NY. He might be better off with 40 profile tires to deal with the terrible roads. He is on 19" wheels after all.

You just need to fix diameter, this will cause any rubbing on big bumps otherwise all other things can be fixed very well.
