What's the best combination of wheels/tires for 2016?

For locations without freezing weather and snow (such as most of CA), what's the best combination of wheels/tires offered by 2016 models?

I'm guessing that the 19" wheels with summer RFTs are too punishing in terms of ride quality, handling, durability, and replacement cost.

Is that correct, and if so, what's the best alternative?
18" with non-RFT summer tires?
18" with RFT summer tires?
18" with RFT all season tires?

Get the wheels you like with the packages you want, tires are easily swapped.

Even wheels can be swapped, but it's expensive... It's better to get it right when ordering the car.
