its an E90 with the covers on it so u cant see any changes they may have made
those are probably old pictures of an LCI, thus the reason the tailights are covered up, and u can tell the fender flares are just stuck on, not gonna happen... |

here's what I think.
-its obvious after looking at the new audi a4, BMW is definetly goin to make the 3 series larger... They did so from the last gen anyway. So it's expected. Wider is as well... there are times I just look at my e90 in the front.. and i'm not sooo so pleased, i just wish it were wider.. even the new m3 e90/e92.. i wish their fenders were wider! -this could be the s-drive version. -an actually FACE LIFT might actually come... or finally make it look like the e92? lol smh. oh and i agree, for the f of it, they should put blacklines on their models, no one will really know. Everyone who is unfamiliar with the e90 or not from e90post thinks I smoked my tail lights anyway SMDH. It's okay to say what u think might happen, cuz we all don't know. Please dont say its hideous.. its just obvious what it is.. if u even think of typing that it's hideous please delete your account from e90post and kindly proceed to kicking rocks. |

the only reasonable reply to this thread can be "wow, they are already testing the F30, cool" or "damn, again it's gonna be bigger and fatter car - where is the 3 series going" --- not speculating on how it looks based on the FACKING MULE. AAAAAAAA, this is so sad in here.

There are more critics of people's responses to the test mule's looks then there are critics of the test mules looks. That's what's sad.
Either way, the wheel base looks too long now (like an iL model) and they're making the car bigger in a time when nobody WANTS a bigger 3 series. to BMW for that! |

Muscular
My guess is that the final product with sheet metal will be as radical a change as the E90 when it was first introduced.
Isn't the next gen 1, introduced as the same time/year later, also expected to step up in size? With pricing continuing to rise, I would not be surprised if many present 3 owners step down to the 1 in 2012, especially if it becomes more 3-like.

The E90 is already nearly the size of the E34 5er. If they keep growing as speculated by these mule photos, I'm definately:
1) Going to need a bigger garage, or 2) Going for a 1 Series |

The severe lack of reading comprehension in this thread is frightening, but based off of how most of the members type in the forums, I suppose I can't say I'm truly surprised. When the entire nation as a whole no longer gives two sh*ts about correctly speaking, writing, and understanding their own f*cking language, it's only a matter of time before we plummet into another dark age.
==================== Anyway, back on topic. Has anyone else noticed that the track of the new chassis is significantly smaller than what the faux-fenders would suggest? My guess is that the track for the F30 would only be 1-1.5" wider than the current E90 (@ 59.1"), which would come pretty close to the current E60 (@ 61.3"), but not quite match it. Didn't notice too much in terms of the wheelspan though, so maybe the car won't be quite as long as some would suggest. Don't expect the F30 to get smaller though, as BMW needs to further differentiate their 3-series from their 1-series. I just hope that with the increased dimensions, BMW exercises more extensive use of lightweight alloys when possible to help offset the weight of the already somewhat heavy E9x series, especially now that fuel economy is on the forefront of many peoples' minds (except for perhaps the past few months). And with CAFE standards dictating average fleet MPG to go from 31-35 from 2011-2020, that falls right into effect during the F30 life cycle. But on the positive end, the wider track could mean even better handling (provided weight doesn't go unchecked).
