sport package envy from 340 buyer

The sport package available on the 320 is amazing. My dream is 340 + track + sport. $47k + $1.2k for sport + $1.7k for track. Sub $50k MSRP for a well appointed rocket with MPSS tires. What would invoice be? $46ish? Daaamnnn Daniel.

Adding track to a non-M sport car looks terrible. black wheels + chrome trim = poor taste. have one or the other. can't have both.

frankly, I'm surprised BMW allows buyers to configure such a tacky configuration (base + track only). just my opinion. if apple were a car company, they would never allow something like that. brand aesthetics matter these days.

The best part of the awesome the 320i Sport Pack is that it's available with all exterior colors (Med Blue!). I'm really not a fan of Estoril; looks too 'candy'.

The superior packaging combos are the best part of the 320i (can get HIDs without sunroof, M-sport steering wheel+any paint color, etc). I also wish they'd just offer the 320i Sport Pack across the line, and add the M-sport bumpers and side sills as a separate option for people that want them.

I'm looking on BMW's website, and the 320 Sports Pkg includes Anthracite Headliner, 18" wheels, M steering wheel and sports seats; the LCI 340 already has all that except the M steering wheel. Post LCI, other than the M steering wheel, what makes the 320 Sports Pkg any better?

it's the shadowline trim (or lack thereof) that makes all the difference. track + msport looks great. and I love estoril blue for the record. i drive one now (335) and have one on order (340).

1. It's $1300-1700 cheaper for all the same content except the plastic body bits (that are purely cosmetic) and possibly an additional radiator (functional)

2. It allows you to get the M-sport steering wheel and 704 suspension with any paint color. On the 340i, if you want those, you get like half as many colors to choose from (1/3rd as many blues, barring Individual)

I think Estoril looks great at night. In the sun, it washes out and looks nearly pastel. Mediterranean and Tanzanite look much better in the sun, IMHO.

Yes, for what I wanted, the package available on the 320i was too good to pass, even though I would love the 6 cylinder, it just got too be too much (stuff and $$) by the time it was optioned. My 550i was great except for it's weight, so I was a bit crazy about keeping the weight down on my build.

I'm not sure about the 320, but on the 340 the base trim isn't shiny chrome, it's brushed. If you want the shiny chrome you have to opt for the zero cost Luxury Package. There's quite a difference.

I look at Estoril Blue every day in the sun and at night. In direct light you get the silver flakes that pop out but nothing about it looks pastel. Yas Marina Blue looks pastel.

47k +2.6K M-Sport +1.7k track = 51.3K

340i invoice 42,635 +2365 invoice m sport + 1700 price of track(not sure on invoice for Track I didn't order it so say full price) = Invoice $46,700 (add 2k for x drive)

Not sure what you're complaining about you can get a great deal with Msport you just need to negotiate.

My 340 M Sport with Track Handling was $61k almost fully loaded. I think the only thing I was missing was the Driver Assistance Plus. Yes, the M Sport was worth it, and yes the Track Handling was worth it!!

I did really like the LCI LED lights on the 340.

The other options are worth it only if are willing to pay, of course! Backup and bird's eye cameras are nice, but not necessary TBH, and I LIKE the heads-up display, but it's not really that that helpful on the 340 since there is no tachometer on it. That being said, they are still nice details... depends on your budget. I wouldn't worry about it if you DON'T have it however. The best part about the 3 series is how it drives!

M-Sport

I have Track Pack without M-Sport. I don't understand everybody's love M— sport. I agree the bumpers look nice & the steering wheel is pretty cool but there is absolutely nothing in that package that makes the car go faster if you buy the track pack. The only thing that helps with open track is the extremely stiff static suspension that comes with the M-Sport. You don't have to get the gray 18 inch wheels as you can upgrade to the shiny 19 inch wheels but if u have the track pack they will be black all the time because the brake dust anyway.

I saved my money and blew it on leather and other things:-)

You get the fog delete which increases airflow to either 2 extra radiators or to the radiator. I could never get a straight answer. I went for the M Sport because it was the only option left besides Driver Assistance Plus (which I don't need) that I didn't do. If you are going to go all the way, go all the way. The M Sport bumpers are much better looking, at least imho.
