Vancouver - YVR - N55 Big Turbo Install
Has anyone worked with a shop to have a Pure Stage 2 Turbo installed?
I've called a few shops and no one is open to/experienced with installing a big turbo for the N55. So far I've called: CTS Turbo - they're not open to installing Pure's turbo and say developing their own is on their 'to-do' list. West Coast Turbo's - said no, and recommended Garage 5 Garage 5 - has never done this Pointing me in the right direction would be helpful - thank you. |

For anyone else looking, Racing Greed in Coquitlam will install! They say 10-12 hours on an x-drive. They have a lot of experience modding high performance cars (GTR's etc.)

Let me know how your install experience goes. I'm installing my PS2 myself with a buddy or two next weekend. I'm thinking it's going to be a couple of 6 to 8 hour days under the car. I'll be replacing the water pump and adding an external oil cooler at the same time.

I've heard of a few people installing them at home over a couple days. I guess with the right tools, some patience and confidence, it's doable. Let me know if the instructions are clear! Good luck! |

Pay them whatever they want for it. It took 40 hours on jack stands in the driveway with a buddy helping. If a shop was quoting 10-12 hours, I'd jump at it. I suspect you still wouldn't have your car back three days after dropping it off and the mechanic would be giving the manager shit for taking the job.

Well done though! Now you'll need to get it tuned? Are you running any additional fueling? |

Stock fuel hardware for now. I've got a Walbro 450 to install soon and I'm running the BM3 OTS Stage 2H 91 octane tune. I plan on upgrading to port injection some time this year.

Mostly, port injection is to supplement the stock fuel system maxing out. But, yeah, I may occasionally run straight E85 instead of mixing, which is a pain in the ass, since the E85 station doesn't carry better than 90 octane, necessitating a trip to a second gas station. |

I think I'll be running meth pretty soon though, so I will likely just stick with that, and then use that if/when I upgrade the turbo. |
