Sports steering
I have the DHP in my sport line, and while I would like to drive in comfort or even eco mode at times with the softer suspension, I would love it if I could have the stiffer sports steering in those modes - is that possible somehow?

I actually find the steering vague and unnerving in comfort or eco mode, but for other reasons I will have to use those modes occasionally - just wondered if there was a way of setting the steering mode independently of the suspension. |

Ever tried a CG-lock on your seat? I have them on both front seats and my passengers are enjoying sport mode much more than in the past, in my E46, since they are much more secure--80% of the security of a full race harness.

Probably not what I'm looking for. And probably not something the cancer patients I drive would appreciate either, especially not after a dose of chemo

The CG-Lock is just like a regular seat belt, except that you can, if you wish, snug it up around the hips, just like seat belts back in the old old days--like the seat belts I had installed on my first car, a 1952 Plymouth Cranbrook sedan, three-speed manual on the steering column, way before seatbelts became mandatory.

What you can do is throw the car into sport mode, and then drive it in manual mode. This is the only way to be in sport mode and be in 8th gear at the same time.

But really - what I want is sports steering feel in comfort suspension mode. Not the comfort (read as "no") feel. And not sports suspension mode as it is too stiff for the elderly people I am driving around. Don't want different seatbelts, don't want to turn traction control off etc. What I want is sports steering feel in comfort suspension mode. That's it. But I don't think it's possible. |

Right now, BMW reminds me of Apple. Pretty good on the surface, but not a lot of capability to mess with it behind the scenes. One day it might be more like Android/Windows where you've got more capability to tweak everything to be the way you want it, even if via coding/more difficult interfaces, not necessarily via iDrive.
