Hold on let me get this straight!

If BMW chooses not to make an F30 M3 Sedan. The M3 Sedan will not be gone! Why's everyone saying they'll miss the E90 M3 Sedan. Sure it'll still be available every year but not just a new body style.

From automobile mag article:

Please vote 'No'(option no.3 or no.4) on the Poll so that someone in the board of director's of BMW notices it and says "Wir haben einen großen Fehler. Schrott, den hässlichen GT und der Bau der M3 Limousine."
(Translation: We made a huge mistake. Scrap the ugly GT and build the M3 sedan.)
I hope that report is untrue.

I know that we won't be able to change the decision but it's better to try then to never attempt at it and make our voices heard. I'm sure that many people will vote to have a M3 sedan
And I'm also hoping this article is false

BTW, can someone tell me if the current M3 sedan is doing well in the 'sales' department or not?? I'm just wondering why BMW is doing this!
Its not happening. For ALL of last year at our BMW dealership of all the M3's we sold only ONE that right ONE sedan was sold. This is the case just about everywhere. I love the sedan but everyone associates the M3 with a coupe or conv. I knew from day one the sedan was going to be a failure which is a shame because it is my favorite body style available.

Don't do this. Don't do any of this. The E39 only just turned ten two days ago.
Lol at this. ''Hey I've a van which is made by BMW''

Anyway, more sources are pointing to the extinction of the m3 saloon.
C63, IS-f sedans are going to be the only players left in this segement which is :P :

I get your point. This 'sports sedan category' , is surely going to miss m3. I just wish they stop investing so much money on those van/GT and spent some money on a super saloon for the middle class.(good point by Kiemyster)

I dont think I will be able to afford a M5 so I might as well look at a c63, IS-F or maybe a RS4.

My report on E90 M3....They can't keep them on the showroom floor. I know the two sales managers in the hugher volume BMW dealerships in Dallas TX and they told me as well as have seen for myself, COZ AM ALWAYS THERE LOL, the coupes sell also but because they order more coupes they sit a little more on the ground. Up until recently, I have actually seen, as well as raced, sedan M3 lately been seeing little more coupes but i would say its even...I will be seriously pissed off if they do that and just go get a C63

ooh and bytheway, the GT is a POS.

It seems that M3 sedan production will end earlier than the other cars and that plans for an F30 M3 sedan are off the table. That's what I've been reading.

The GT3 is ridiculous. Just bring the proper, well proportioned Touring model. And actually market it. It wasn't even in the last 3er commercial I saw which flashed the sedan, coupe and convertible. Taller is never better.

And just when I may be able to afford a next gen M3 sedan with a twin-turbo monster I6, they axe it....

my point is, BMW will continue making E90s until F30s come out.

I got the impression that people are saying there will be no M3 Sedans at all until F30 come out.

As of this time last month, no decision was made to not make a F30 M3 sedan.

M3 Sedan > Coupe

The M3 Sedan has been proven a better track car than its coupe couterpart. If they would only offer the carbon fiber roof to lower the center of gravity as it does on the coupe! Having a B pillar stiffens the vehicle, and the longer wheelbase proves for better handling given certain conditions.

Question Proof?

Of the sedan being better than the coupe at track racing? Because there are BMW-issued statements that the e9x coupe is stiffer than the sedan.

And since this has happened before, I can see how it is a tradition to only make the sedan every second generation...

And 2019 is so late... I had planned to buy a M3 Sedan in 2014/2015, somewhere around my 25th birthday. Now, those plans are scrapped. It's either go for a C63, which I really don't want to do because I love my manual car too much or wait an extra year and go for the M5. Thank you BMW for ruining perfectly thought out plans.
