How many miles have you done with it and how well is the alcantara holding up?

About 10,000 miles, so far so good. Slightly warn in places but I have not treated it yet and people say it would bring it back to life a bit.

Also bare in mind my car is parked in the sun every single day during the week till I get home at 4pm.

I've done over 14k with mine and its pretty much as it was when new. I brush it and wipe it with a damp microfibre every couple of months and that seems to keep it looking and feeling good. I'm more conscious of what is on my hands now but only because it feels so good that you want to keep it nice.

I have an alcantara one in my Boxster done by Royal that's a couple of years old and looks and feels perfect to me.

The previous owner got it done with the centre console lid to match the GT3 gearstick/handbrake... looks awesome!

Makes me want to get the seats re-upholstered in the same.

Can someone tell me how long royal steering wheels usually take to reply to enquiries? I messaged them yesterday but haven't heard back yet.

If you could retro fit heating to the wheel I'd be all over this!

What impact does this have if you have the heated steering function?

Surely with a heated wheel, the cable and the column cover with the button, it would be possible to retrofit?

I did it through the website order form, maybe I should have emailed instead? Or maybe because I said I needed a heated wheel on exchange they aren't able to do it?

Nope, mine is a 987 and I'm in contact with the previous owner who did these mods.

Would have been funny though!

Really, really want an alcantara wheel now, after sitting in that M4 CP with one in Coopers!

You killing me man I have been wanting it for ages .

They take around two weeks to trim the steering and it's a swap option with deposit and they have good repo so wouldn't be problem .

You getting white stitched or red/blue like M4 steering ?

I am sure I should have few quids left after I come back from Dubai so will be ordering whole Alcantra interior

I'm thinking 3 colour M stitching (although the light silver also looks good) with the red top stripe, which I know some people aren't keen on but the genuine MP wheel has it and it matches my CR leather so I think it will work well.

Thank fuck for that! I ragged the arse off mine and px'd it to a BMW dealership for my first E92. It needed about £3-4k throwing at it just to pass an MOT when I palmed it off

To keep on-thread, I had the wheel done in Alcantara too and it stood up to my harsh abuse very well indeed. Took a little bit more care than a leather wheel but as with everything, prevention is better than cure (which is about the only thing I looked after on that awesome car)....if it was a dog, you would have shot it just to be kind.

I have the M Sport Perf Display Wheel II in the F32 and so far (only about 500 miles with it), its still pristine. I bought some RaceGlaze cleaner on advice from Morasool but haven't needed to use it yet. I do find that I make sure my hands are like a surgeons before fondling it though....

Thanks for the recommendation, looks good at £12 a bottle, I was wondering if there was some specific Alcantara cleaners.

Yea Red strip will go well with your interior mate and if you have red thread in your stitching as well then even better at least it will blend well.

While your hand in pocket why not change M4 steering wheel trim too

Also you getting black or grey Alcantra fabric mate ?

I think black looks better than grey

I've already CF wrapped the wheel trim:

And the rest of my interior trim:

Thanks for the heads up on different Alcantara colours, I didn't realise there was that choice too! What colour is the genuine MP wheel?
