Automobilemag Q60s review-4 series throw down?

First Drive: 2017 Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400

http://www.automobilemag.com/news/20...0-first-drive/

"At drive’s end, I alighted from the Q60 with a sense of immense satisfaction. If I was in the market for a sporty two-door to help me commute mindlessly to and from work, while offering a little something extra for weekend road trips, then the Infiniti makes a compelling argument against, say, an equivalent BMW 4 series. With a starting price of $52,205, there’s certainly a lot more bang for your buck than if the same luxury options—leather interior, premium trim, 19-inch wheels, and the plethora of matching technological upgrades—were applied to the BMW. And with the money I’d save, I would have something to put toward the inevitable speeding fines I’d accrue testing my driving skills against the car’s CPU on those jaunty country drives."

Anyone here driven one yet? IMHO, it looks good...and who can argue with 400HP from the factory?

At 3,721 lbs, the 440i is not far off. But, point taken.

Crap, really? Didn't the 435i weigh a good 100lbs less than that? Certainly the B58 isn't 100lbs heavier than the N55.. or is it.

the b58 is indeed heavier by 100lbs from what I understand. That said the power of the b58 more than makes up for the 100lbs.

Goj didn't you have your 340 weighed? or am I thinking of another member. C&D's 340 tester weighed in at almost 3,700lbs and it was with the slightly lighter MT.

Edit... I just realized you were comparing your car to the Infiniti not the 440.. ha

It's a good value and more bang for the buck...however
Never really been a fan of Infiniti's personally
Couldn't care less how powerful the new engine is

Yep lol to the Infiniti. I believe the curb weight I referenced was the Motor Trend COTY 340i w/ manual

...more evidence the 320hp rating is comically underrated.

good times when we are all yawning at ~109mph trap speed cars

I like the idea of infiniti (good value) and have looked at G37s / Q60s in the past, but have always gone with BMW for a variety of reasons

I like the looks inside and out, more competition can only be a good thing for consumers right?

I drove the 4 door red sport and didn't like it at all. Will have to try and see if the coupe is any better.

Looks wise, the Q60 doesn't hold a candle to the 4 coupe..not even close. I used to LOVE the G35 sport coupe and wanted one for quite awhile. I don't love the later designs and really am luke warm to the current iteration. While 350lbs of tq is nice..my turbo 4 has 324 as is..it just doesn't have 400hp..which I'm totally okay with. I also think it's overpriced..but that's just me.

+1 on that. Love it when there's horsepower everywhere

FINGERS CROSSED this engine finds its way into a next gen 370z that is close to the low end in weight (3300lb) of the current gen

That interior also looks like a great place to be, and as a bonus, no iPad like display just sticking out of the dashboard. I think a lot of people here are writing it off too quickly because of extra weight and because it's not BMW.

I think it looks like a decent effort and at least deserves a chance to be compared fairly.

The issue is the transmission too. A 335 and a 340 will out run this car with their superior 8 speed ZF.

Be interesting to see both cars dynoed back to back to see what the power spread actually is.
