Hmmm, episode 2. Much the same as the first. Mildly amusing in places, but really it's just the same old stuff. Nothing new. Disappointing, but I suppose to be expected. At least they've confirmed the American is gone because people hated him!

I agree, there was some annoying bits in the first series, but it seems like they’ve dumbed it down this time and are morphing into Top Gear. If seems like they don’t have the big budget like series 1...series 2 on the cheap. The bean counters must be holding the purse strings now.

Just watched episode 2.
Thoughts. Better actually. I think its a case of managing expectations. Certainly not a 'must watch through pain of death' like the old episodes of TG used to be but still entertaining. 1. Who was the doris driving the AMG round the track? Need to promote her more. Not like its like 'The Stig' and shes a secret. 2. I dribbled a bit of bodily fluids over the AMG GT-R. Need one in my life. 3. The septic rounders player looked a fool and was a fool. Looked like a Yank version of Timmy Mallet. Must go to the same tattooist that CazualUK/Biggs goes to. 4. The 'Merican' financiers obviously still insist they do an American tour. But good to see the team still subtly ridicule them. Very little of real hardline opinions of the USA but hardly surprising. 5. The new Ford GT looks awesome. But looks like the interior was styled by CazualUK. Costs as much as 2x Ferraris? Think I'd take two Modena products to be honest. Is that real CF inside? Looked like it had been wrapped from the cheapest shit from EBay. 6. Still comes across as very scripted. And they all look soooo tired 7. Its getting there but given the choice between TG and TGT; New TG gets it. The Monkey and his team have the privilege of a good format and don't need to try so hard. Lets hope, like a ropey divorce, both programmes find their own personality. |

The new driver is Abbie Eaton. Only know because I googled her last night and she is pretty awesome. Been driving/racing since 10 years old.

Just watched it and it's better than last week. Although did fast forward though the celebrity as I had no interest in that.
Ford GT sounds awesome.

They are getting on a bit aren't they? I watched it, can't say I was wildly enthused about it but it passed an hour whilst I scunged on the sofa partially drunk.

I just watched episode 2 and wow it was actually pretty good! Decent car porn with the Ford GT & Merc GTR, and the studio bit was quite entertaining too!
Maybe there is hope yet! |

I just the third episode and found it pretty enjoyable all the way through.
The downhill skateboarders are mental! And the noise the Chiron makes is heavenly.

I found it pretty enjoyable too. Celebrity part still tedious though.
Chiron is something else. He said it was the fastest car in the world. It might have been at the time of filming but I think the Koenigsegg holds that title now.

Really enjoyed episode 3. The Chiron is amazing and the office car park stuff was a laugh. Don’t need the boring celeb bit though so maybe they will drop that if we keep complaining.

I agree, it was pretty enjoyable and the studio parts were quite funny. Even Frau Dreier watched half of it and was laughing in parts.
I used to enjoy some of the old Top Gear celeb stuff. I think they're just trying too hard to be funny and missing it with their new idea. |

To be fair a 335d would probably beat an M4 off the line, pretty unfair pitting a 4wd against rwd.

I'm just amazed that Hammond still lives - plenty of far better people have unfortunately passed recently and this nobber is still sucking in air.

Seen episodes 1 and 2 so far, tbh thought it was excellent, as funny as ever.
Yes, it's scripted but so what ? I had no idea who Brian Wilson is and thought that section of the show completely crap. But everything else I really enjoyed. Agree May is looking a little old now, I saw him on a program about girls toys the other day and he looked a lot younger. But then I guess we've all aged in the 10 years since the programme was made |

I’m currently watching episode 4 and it’s gone bad again! The whole feature is about making the point of why they’re usually scripted, but they’re making the point over and over and over again, and it’s really irritating!
And now there’s a bit of that very popular thing at the moment, objectification of women, pretending to forget to start a race because they were distracted by the scantily clad girl that was starting the race! Yawn! |

I enjoyed episode 4 tonight as well. It's light entertainment and worked for me. Didn't watch the celeb bit as Michael The Ball was on, obviously of course I object to the objectification of the scantily clad woman too
