90% percent of people who know the difference between the 4 cylinder and the 6 cylinder motor look at the tailpipes, and 100% of those whose opinion one usually cares about. They're easier to see than reading the numbers. So debadging does not mask what model one owns, as if anyone cares, between a 320, 328, and 335.

Maybe the colorful M symbol is cute, but the numbering, not so much.

The real mystery to me is who wants a BMW license plate frame, their door sill, floormat and steering wheel to have Ms, and a logo on every wheel.

Oem swag does hold it value look at 70's cadillac grills as an example

another example would be having less furniture in a room giving the perception of being cleaner, same could be said for the rear end of a car.

but yes, uncluttered is a more accurate description.
You're missing the point of the words. Clean refers to being not dirty. Clutter or mess are something different. It can be cluttered or messy, but still be clean. Also, it could be dirty but free of clutter or any aesthetically unpleasing mess.

Take my child's room for example. After installing new carpet and having everything perfectly in place, she could chuck her freshly washed clothes into the ceiling fan and scatter them across the room. It would still be clean, but certainly would be messy / cluttered. Or, she could pick up all the loose items, but not vacuum or change her sheets and it would neat, but not be clean.

I think that's enough.

BTW, I'm a debadging fool. I used to take all the stickers off my bicycles, and not because I stole them

Was on the fence to debadge but decided to take it off last week and it looks far better. Everything on the car is black , on Melbourne red, and the chrome just stuck out too much for me

I never get this - if you have a 428 why fake the funk and go out and put a M badge on your car. I have a beautiful 435 M-sport and I would never put a M badge on my car

I think it depends on the overall look you are going for. For black cars, I like debadging as it does make it cleaner. However for my white cars, I like the emblem there because I like to black out emblems to give it a more defined accent. Definitely just a preference question.

I'm thinking of debadging my 335i, because I'm peasant scum with an inferior engine.
