Avin USA 10.25 android system install DIY

Hi,

I'm planning on swapping a 6.5" hu entrynav for an avin and only using it for streaming videos and generally having a bigger screen. Since I'm using the nav on the bmw system, will it be fine for this?

You can do this, but your nav screen won't be any bigger.

Even after coding the car to the higher resolution? That's a disappointment, will probably go for the oem 8.8" then. Thanks

If you code the car to the higher resolution and widescreen option , then YES you will have bigger screen to all the iDrive system . NAVI , menus , multimedia everything .

What navi do you have now ? Business navigation or integrated navi ?
Actually , you will have big screen with business navi , not with the integrated navi .

Thanks guys and I have the business nav. It's a 2016 LCI 320i. I have the coding option to set the resolution to 8.8" or 10.25".

My navigation is just an option in the NBT iDrive "Navigation".

I have been using it for a few days. However it's still to buggy for me and for the last 2 days it would work for a few minutes than just say Lost Signal. I would take a few hours for it to start working again with the IDrive. I'm sending it back and taking the hit for the 20%. I rather have something that works all the time. Maybe i'll just wait for V3 to come out and give it a try again.

Hay guys I have the Avin fitted in my f31 and I just got a micro sd card do I have to get screen out to put card in as I finding it hard to put the card in am I puting it in the right way chip side facing the window ??

Hi Guys,
about to get one as well after reading this whole topic (well allmost...)

I really want to know if its possible to do something with an additional tablet for my little daughter for the holiday drive.
IS there a way to control that tablet, or share the screen of the unit and then go to Idrive and the tablet continues or something?
The unit has no video out unfortunately and this would really stop my doubts...

Anyone who has a secondary screen attached or something?

I hate this part. The integrated navigation doesn't look great but is okay for me but I would love to swap display for the bigger one and this system doesn't support it. Should be extremely easy for them to make it an option when attaching the system to a laptop

Im getting quite a good GPS signal at the moment after adjusting the position. It locks in like a few seconds. Ill try to explain where I have located it. GPS antenna is a magnetic one, reach over on the side of the vents once everything is removed, above the glove box, underneath the dash, there is a metal box, u can just about reach behind it and the GPS antenna will attach there via the magnet. Wire pointing down. Think someone mention direction can play a big part and it would seem so.

However, im a bit worried. Is this the box that houses the air bag. Air bag + explosive + magnetic GPS antenna = do we have a problem ?

Any thoughts ?

Disclaimer: I am not good at drawing.

Couldnt take any real pics as all the panels have been fitted back and even if they were not, there was no way a camera/phone was gonna fit in there

The diagram is for a LHD but the principle is exactly the same, I have RHD. I have tried to indicate the approx position of where the GPS antenna has been fitted. Basically, its behind, not underneath the metal box underneath the dash.

It's an older version and the USB prompt still comes up, but better than nothing.

I installed the same one you had and the resolution wasn't the right one as well. We'll just have to wait for another version soon
