Finally! My BMW Remote is available for Android users in the USA.

Like some others, I'd tried sideloading the European APK but had little success. I can confirm the following funtions are working on my 2014 435i with tech package:

• Remote Door Lock: Locks the car from the phone. There's also an unlock function, but it only places a call to BMW Assist so a rep can unlock it (probably to prevent the person who stole your phone from getting into your car, too).
• Vehicle Finder: shows your car on the map.
• Remote Sound Horn: Honks a couple of times
• Remote Flash Headlights: Flashes the headlights briefly. (The panic button on the remote is probably more useful than the horn or headlight functions.)
• Comfort Ventilation: Turns on parked ventilation or sets a timer.

After you install the app, use the same email address and password that you use with BMW Assist/Connected Drive. It apparently works with multiple cars; my recently returned 335i is still showing up as an option.

Ventilation works on MY14 with NBT.

Agree that the Android Connected Drive app is poor.

Hmm, looks like remote locking isn't working for me. Worked with their previous version of the app.

just to make sure everyone knows so they don't go through the same ordeal that I went through,

BMW Remote only works if you have nav/tech package and have bmw online enabled. Otherwise you wont be able to log in using BMW Assist.

Sweeet!! Just downloaded. It doesn't seem as snappy as the iPhone version, but it's much much better. Love the little status at the bottom as the data is sent to the server, then passed down to the car. And ventilation!! That ain't in the iOS version yet!

Which nav package do you have? My F32 has the tech package with HUD.

I have the tech package with HUD too. I do not see an option under the "remote control" option on the bmw app. Only thing I see on the app are locking/unlocking (have to call BMW), remote horn, and flash headlights.

Another interesting discovery... The app wouldn't give my car's location when it was at the dealer 20 miles away, saying it was a privacy safeguard.

You're on the wrong screen.

When you enter your PIN to reach the home screen, hit "climate," not "Control."

You'll see the options to "send timer" or "activate now."

I don't see it. After I enter my pin, all I see is the vehicle position screen. There is no climate option

You have to be within 0.6 miles from the car in order for it to show up on the map.

On a side note, you should have honked the horn while it was at the dealer.

The 0.6 mile thing is quite a limitation. I'm betting it's for "privacy" reasons...because "they" can find the car. I discovered this when I was out of state halfway across the country. I just wanted to check that my car was still parked where I left it.

Are you running the current USA version from the Google Play Store?

Clicking on "Climate" takes me to this screen.



"Control" brings up this screen:



Note: the images above are linked from the Play store. They aren't actual screenshots from my phone, but they're identical to what I see, with the exception that the first screen shows a SBM 435i M Sport (my car) and my VIN.

That's the current US version.

He linked it in the post. That's exactly how mine looks, less the awful yellow color.

Go to the Play Store on your device. Search for "My BMW Remote US". Download it. If you have that old APK that was floating around before, delete it. THAT's the old Euro version.

Nope. All of those photos are linked directly from the current US version on the Google Play Store.

I was told by my dealer that to use BMW Remote I would need a BMW assist account that costs 199 a year. Is that what everyone is using to get this to work?
