hi buster blue. just joined and really like the twin exhaust mod you've done, its what i want to do to my 320i. can you tell me where you got the 328i rear box from and roughly how much the whole mod cost you. I've made an enquiry to a bmw specialist and they can supply a 328i rear box for roughly £450+ then i will have to get a new rear diffusor as I've got the m performance kit, so all in I'm looking at about £900+.
any info would be great. cheers

Why not go full out and get a 335i exhaust and diffuser? Will look and sound better

Aside from that, doesn't all LCI's 320 upwards get double exhausts anyway? Or is that dirty dervs only? Might only need to buy tips and a diffuser, a far sight cheaper.

Thought about that too. I think only the latest 3 series to be launched soon or now gets the slight power upgrade and twin exhausts on the 320i.

You certainly don't need to be spending £950 just to change the tips. For that you could buy something that would also improve the sound of it too.

To change the tips you need a y pipe don't you? Would like to try and keep the look as original as possible. If I could get a rear box second hand, that would save a few penny's.

I may be able to help there I am waiting on having an MPE fitted to my car in the next week or 2! I will have 428i GC back box going spare - I was going to put it on e-bay but no idea how much I would be looking at... Car has done about 2000 miles!

Let me know if you are interested.....

Ok I'll look into that to see if it's the same fitting. Yes I would be interested.
Thanks for the reply.

Hi Simon, luckily one of the members on here was selling one, looked new as there was no soot at all. all in all the new apron/exhaust/fitting came to £190.

The exhaust note has changed slightly no performance gains however mid range strangely feels smother, my imagination I guess.

Also guess your not far from St Albans for the fitting.

Good luck

Thanks for the info.
Yes I'm not far from St. Albans.
Might have 1 lined up its from a 428i gran coupe. Will have to check but can't see why it's not the same as a 328i. It's from a member on this forum but he does not know a price yet but from what you've said £100 is fair I think.
Thanks again for the reply

Simon.

Simon.
Your Pipe size ie 320i is 60mm the 328i is 72mm, dont forget the new rear apron, also I'm sure you will get the chrome tail pipes with it.

Where are you in Hertfordshire, Redbourn?

Will

Yeah cheers will, I've found out the info. You can buy an adapter from Remus that joins the pipes correctly or could weld like yours.
Unfortunately I've got the m performance rear diffuser which is going to cost a bit more to change to the 328i diffuser but never mind.
I'm in Stevenage not far from St. Albans.
Thanks for the info

All the best Simon.

Ok mate thanks for that. I'd seen the Remus adapter on a post done on this forum, although the post was done quite a while ago. Some guy from Sweden I think.
My local bmw specialist said they can do it ( main dealer won't touch that sort of thing) but I'll bear the St. Albans guys in mind as they've done yours.
What did they do? From the pics it's looks like they added a piece of pipe and welded the 2 ends?
Anyway appreciate the info on the Remus adapter.
Cheers simon

I read that to however his was a 2.0 diesel I believe.

That was the Remus adapter, adapted. The guys said the could do a better job without the Remus part, told me that after?

Maybe tell you before would have been better than after they fitted it.

In that post I mentioned a rear electronic exhaust flap or something like that is mentioned, having to weld it open. Did this apply to yours or is that because it was a diesel?
Thanks for your help and advice. I really appreciate it.

Regards simon
