Online Entertainment voucher in iDrive Store

I was roaming around the iDrive the other day, hitting 'update' wherever it occurred, and after a few seconds a invitation to visit a store came up.
I had heard about it but never came across it before. After following a few links I came across the opportunity to 'purchase' an Online entertainment subscription from the car, followed by login with my connected drive account name and password. My car has professional NAV and I did not purchase this option when the car was new. My car does however have the Internet option but cant comment on whether this is a factor.

I am still thinking about whether to take it up and have decided not to state the UK price for the 12m package as it is doubtless going to be different across markets but suffice to say that it seems good value considering it includes (I believe) the music subscription and the data, though I am happy to be corrected on that as after reading the description of this service on the BMW website and others I cant definitively tell whether this is just the data and that you need to join and pay for, a subscription to a participating streaming service.

Amusing to see the Facebook icon since it's no longer available for iDrive.

I've been wondering how to get all those nifty features.

How do I go about that?

I subscribed to the internet feature for the year. One word, Terrible. Forget thats it's slow as molasses; you can't load a page that has more than handful of images. The browser runs out of memory and crashes(probably due to the 1GB of ram they gave HBT1). And forget about your passenger using it on long trips; the damn thing cuts out the video while in motion.

The fundamental capability is built into the professional nav. If you have standard you are shot. Assuming the former.... Go into the connected drive part of your system and execute any service updates that are available.

Then, and respective of the icons picture which I think is what you are after. You need a smartphone. (I have an iPhone) and to install the BMW connected drive app.

The phone must be connected to the car via the armrest usb and the connected drive app running with the phone unlocked.

Over to you from there as I only use the Amazon music app.

I am surprised that this thread had not generated more interest. As far as I know this is the first time an over the air update has added an 'at order' feature as a retro fit.

I bought the voucher on the day of delivery of my LCI. After some teething problems on Day 2, it is now working fine and worth the offer price (significantly less than pre-ordering).

I also had Internet for 1 month, it was horrible (on NBT1 - 3g).
Pages are super slow, by the time a normal page has loaded, you need to move again (and video is cut off). And, for European users, this is only valid in your country, no roaming included. This is really useless.

Your CIC does not support the BMW Store.
