Key detected in car - No central locking
This is an odd fault. I have a spare key for my F32. My normal key works fine with central locking and starting the car.
My spare is detected in the car in any location and I can start and drive, but it will not remotely unlock or lock the car. I have tried getting close, near back window, but nothing. Anyone else had a similar fault before I embark on spending £100's at my BMW dealer for a new key. Many thanks. |

Many thanks for the response. Yes tried the battery swap over and a new battery and also the initialisation with foot on the brake and start. I can also see the fob is recognised in the menu.

Yes - I leave the primary well away. I think it must be a fault in the key with the antenna for remote operation, so that probably means a new key.
Appreciate the response. |

If the key doesn't work that would be a defect in materials or workmanship and should be a warranty item, so long as there's no visible damage from external forces.
