Hi Davis51,
I am doing a upgrade from manuel sportseats with heating to electric seats with memory and heating this weekend. I am a little confused about the wiring. Do I need both CAN and LIN bus to both seats or are LIN not necessary? |

electric seats
Hi Is it possible for me to read the notes please. I have fitted the seats power and Kcan to the seat modules in my F21 125d, the seats work for position and lumbar but not for heating and memory someone has tried to code them the option has been coded but the modules cant be discovered I know the Kcan is there because they wouldnt move at all before I connected the Kcal-l & Kcan-H on pins 5 & 6. The car came with heated (lin bus) and lumbar. Thanks Ed

Hi David,
I know this is an old post but I am hoping that you are still on the forum. I swaped my manual seats with heating with full electric sport seats with memory and heating. Everything works except for the heating indicator, which is not working properly for the drivers side. I can switch on the heating but the 3 LED's turns of after a couple of seconds. The heating is on and I can adjust the heating, but the indicator LED's still turns off. Also I do not get any temperature reading from the backrest sensor, but maybe it is just faulty. As I understand the driver side seat heating on memory seats is controlled by K-can rather than LIN. So I tapped in PIN 5 and 6 in the yellow seat connector to PIN 4 and 3 on the iDrive controller (rather than wirering all the way to the FEM). Rheingold shows the error "E58C49 Seat heating, driver: missing LIN component" There is one more error which is also related to the seat, but I don't think it has anything to do with the heating: "802A08 Personal Profile porting restricted due to lack of calibration" When I try to do the seat standardisation it fails with the error "- Control unit is not encoded" Any help will be highly appreciated. Best, Niels |

If so, have you made sure the ECU coding is recognizing them? |

Hello David,
Sorry for troubling you with this but I was hoping to do this seats conversion myself and was hoping if you can assist me with it. As I am not a smart cookie any detail/pictures you can provide would be much helpful including where to start etc. Many thanks |

F80 Seats into F30
Wondering if anyone could help me.....
I've got a 2017 LCI F30 with heated seats and electrical lumbar support but manual adjustment. I've bought a 2015 m3 F80 interior but there is 4 extra pins on the connector block of the new seats. Does anyone have any know how to wire this into the main harness. Do I need to swap airbags/ seat tensioner etc. From the old seats onto the new seats? Is there any coding required ? Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated... |
