Hey everyone,

This is my first post here so if I'm doing something wrong, please let me know. I recently installed the Dinantronics Sport Performance tuner on my N20 328i. I love the simplicity of it and the added power and turbo noises, but I am a little bit concerned about how it will effect the longevity of my engine. Will running an extra 3psi on an N20 pose a significant threat to the cars lifespan? It has had no issues thus far and has been well maintained. Just wondering how safe the little $300 tune really is. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks!

My feeling is that BMW made a decision on where to put the balance between performance and durability, and I'm not going to question it. If BMW says it won't affect their warranty, in writing, then I might consider it.

Anything that makes a car perform beyond the manufacturers specifications will affect longtime durability.

Is an additional 3psi going to shorten the lifespan of motor. Maybe, maybe not. Beating the snot out of stock motor will likely shorten the lifespan of a N20 as well.

Drive the car normally with the occasional spirited stint and you'll most likely be fine. However as with any modification, use at your own risk.

Flash tune via Bootmod3 is the safest option to increase power.

Any flash tune will be better than a piggy back controller.

No one can give you 100% assurance but you have a very safe tune ... You can also stay on the safe side and lower boost

Not if the flash tune is a very bad one but generally definitely yes.
