You will now be inundated with phone calls & text messages from Claims Management Companies insisting you make a compensation claim

Thanks again everyone, I have taken that very approach that the car can be easily fixed or replaced, I can't.... so in the grand scheme of things it could have been far worse.

The other drivers insurance company have been in touch and have admitted liability as it seems there is just no way for them to argue it, now they're just trying to keep the costs down.

I had read previously about the hire car costs and potential risks but was told by my insurer that they take insurance out specifically for the risk of the other insurer arguing the costs so even if it did happen I would never be liable for any costs.

I told them that the car is near identical to mine (it's a lower spec 330d msport f30), so as hire cars go they agreed it is a fair replacement.
I think they are just upset by how much it is being charged to them at (If remember correctly they're charging them £174 per day!!)

It easily threads across the top and down the pillar into the boot. I just plugged it into the power socket but you can scotch connect it to the tail lights.

When thing kind of thing happens you feel like dragging the bloke out the car and belting them!
Such mindless, pointless, idiotic driving, it just makes your blood boil when you hear of this sort of thing.

Hope it gets sorted to your satisfaction.
