Preferred Driving Mode

Just curious how most people spend their time.

I find I typically put it into Sport as soon as I start moving. The difference is pretty dramatic.

I've had the car 3 days so still breaking it in. Been in EcoPro mode for about 75% of the time - mostly just to play around and see how high I could get my mpg during my commute to work. Other portion is in Comfort with just a few fun minutes in Sport. It's hard not to rev past 4500 in Sport mode so I'm trying to stay away from it during break in. Can't wait to unleash the beast though!!

I try to stay in Eco or comfort, but after the first minute of drive, my finger always push the button up to sport. It's out of control

4,000km here, I have been using Comfort 95% of the time. Personally, I find sport a bit too sharp with the throttle response, also engine torque at higher rpm spoils some of the comfort. So only uses sport when the "mood" comes. Can't stand Eco-pro (only used less than 5 times).

Sport before I even start rolling. Throttle response is exactly the way I want it.

Comfort around town for most driving.
Sport when on a windy road or feeling sporty.
Eco when cruising on the highway in traffic.

I prefer the sport mode most but to be somewhat gas conscious, I drive in comfort too. I would say I'm about 50/50 between the two. On road trips, I'll set the cruise on and turn on ECO mode.

There's one in Eco Pro. I use it strictly unless I really wanna go fast. The bonus km is cool but its a tiny gain for a full tank. If I am lagging up a hill I'll downshift to get going again.

Comfort until there is some open space on the Seattle roads and traffic lights, which is not the majority of the time. I haven't used ecoPro for more than 10 seconds at a time so far.

I'm over EP. Comfort/DS for me driving around in traffic & long, straight, boring country roads. Sport, whilst driving on twisty, windy, hilly country roads. Never need S+, as I don't intend on driving on gravelly roads or sliding the car.

Car usage is 90 % commuting Home/Work for around 65 miles with 90 % Highway and mostly just beyond traffic jam hours. In this situation I mostly drive in ECO PRO mode. There is just a passage of a few miles(Crossroad Merging) where I usually change to COMFORT Mode (direct throttle respons).
For short trips (< 10 miles non highway) the car stays in Comfort Mode.
Very rarely use Sport mode when engine is on temp. (5%)

  • Sport + - very rarely, just to experiment with for now. Hey its winter and I have my winter wheels on...
  • Sport - 95% of all driving. I use the paddle shifters all the time. If the car is warming up, I shift earlier and keep the RPMs low. If I want to be more economical, I use the paddle shifters and shift earlier and pay more attention to a more gentle foot. I stay in this mode due to the steering feel, the firmer suspension and the throttle response that I'm more use to in a BMW. To my non-car friends, I call this the BMW mode.
  • Comfort - used on poor roads. I have adaptive suspension. I do use this in parking lots, and I have to admit, it is easier and quicker in tight spaces. To my non-car friends, I call this the Camery mode.
  • Eco Pro - snow or stop and go traffic. Long trips as well. To my non-car friends, I call this the Prius mode.

Preferred and most-used are not necessarily the same. I have to think most people prefer sport, but it's not the most practical if you make the stop and go slog to work each morning.

i've had the car for 6 days and i've probably been in eco pro 90% of the time since it's been snowing/raining on off every day and i'm usually in stop/go traffic

have yet to try sport, waiting until the break in period and nicer weather to open her up
