CEL with HFC

Last time I checked the HFC tested out to be fine after 3K miles. Is this an ongoing test? Any update?!

I just received my HFC one today and can't wait to put it on!!

Still have to confirm this. I'll try to get a car in here the next 2 weeks if possible. The OEM downpipe is the same part number as the RWD model cars, and ours is no bigger of a footprint than the oem unit, so im not expecting any problems.

Are there any videos out of the catless? Also how would these pair with the stock exhaust, and if bad which exhaust should I get with these?

Most of the catless units have gone overseas so far, so i havent seen any videos from customers just yet. Either one can be installed with the OEM exhaust as well.

I would reccomend the Challange Catted. It is in a class by itself for the quality and performance it offers.

Anyone installed this? I'd like to go with the HFC version, assuming it can pass emissions and not throw codes, but my concern is on performance. The varied consensus on downpipes is catless is the way to go and even high flow cats are still cats and are not really 'bang for your buck' purchases.

My thought was pairing this with a JB4. I'd love to see real world performance gains with the package and what people saw with just one or the other on (that and does it pose any emissions issues).

Yes for the MOST gains, you want to go catless... but from what you are explaining you want (gains and not having code/emission issues), the HFC DP is the way to go. That's what I got and can't wait for my car to get here to put it on!

I found that the items that offered in this website expensive than other dealers, is there anyway to buy the Challenge Catless DP in cheaper way?

I had mine installed last Sat(the cAtted one). I'm getting the jb4 over the weekend. So far I seem to hear more vibration in the low rpm and also what seems to be bit of loss in lower end torque. Feels like it takes a bit more effort to get the torque kicked in in comfort mode but not too bad. In sports mode you don't feel it at all and the car does feel like it pulls harder at higher rev... Unfortunately I haven't been able to really test it as the car has been sitting at the dealer for better part of the week due to suspension issue. Is what I'm feeling correct?

Only question I have is how hard is it to either add a spacer or turn off the CEL for the catless? Is it just a coding issue and take 15minutes to deal with or is it a true ECU change?

Challenge, would I still see 10-15hp/tq with stock exhaust and the catless? (hypothetical, I won't quote you on it)

All the dealers have it at the same fixed price actually.

Youll have some more exhaust noise, but there should be no real change with vibration. Be sure they have bolted it in to the mounts there.

To me, the car feels sluggish even stock in comfort mode so its hard to tell. The turbo does come on stronger once spooled as you feel the TQ im sure. Hopefully you get your cat back soon so you can give a better driving impression.

We havent played with any spacers onthe catless model yet There isnt alot of room to fit some of the spacers as well. We generally prefer to do it with software as a more consistant solution. The 335 is still lacking in some ECU options but im sure more will come with time.

our testing with the catless downpipe is limited right now as far as gains with a stock exhaust mostly due to the lack of ECU support. 10-20 hp/tq would be a pretty safe estimate though

All of the F30 Challenge exhaust parts are 100% bolt on. No cutting or welding.
