I understand where your coming from Pete. I work in IT and id never consider it as something I would do on an evening just sat here writing scripts and stuff. i love juggling spanners and wish to own my own resto mod shop one day. but then i do wonder if id get tired of working on cars all day but i think i might enjoy it. Next thing to learn is how to build engines.
Classic cars are a worthy investment, some of these are still under the radar but the most popular ones are getting expensive, but you hardly ever lose money on them. Also they are dirt dirt cheap to insure its almost nothing. This is my list of old bmw's i want to own 700 (reminds me of the amphicar) e3 e9 635i 840i 2002 touring e12 m535i e21 323i (obv) e30 318is or a 325i e34 540i / 525i e36 328i and the m3 |

The 2002 touring.... the car I used to drool over as a young man, can still see the image in my mind of the first one I saw down in Devizes, blew me away.
Strange when I look back, but in the context of the time was my favourite motor. Colleague had the E12 M535i, offered to swap my E12 528 with him, but for some reason he declined. HighlandPete |
