318d vibration at idle.
Hello fellow BMW lovers. I have had a few over the years, e90 e36 and what not, but recently I took the plunge and bought me a brand new f30 318d.
I love it, but its developed an occasional vibration at idle. Its gone the minute you drive off. You feel it through the steering and the gear stick and slightly through the pedals. No warning lights showing. Has anyone else noticed the same? Thank you for your time. |

Jumped into the car this morning , problem went from intermittent to constant.
I drove straight to the dealer - their head tech came out and sat in the car . After feelin the vibration he said " this cars grounded " he says it felt like a faulty flywheel . I'm amazed really - not even a warning light . Bmw provided me with a year old 520d while they look into the problem . Least the could do I suppose since my brand new 3 has apparently a faulty flywheel. |

Glad to hear that it was diagnosed and fixed so quickly.
I'm hoping to get my 328d towards the end of the month. If I have the same vibration (which I hope not to ever have), at least a lot of the angst will be gone thanks to your post. Enjoy!!!! |

Thanks for posting the issue and the update with the fix. It's really a great service to those who search out such issues in the future. I'm always a bit amazed at the folks that show up in the forums with a problem, then never bother to post what the fix ultimately was.
