When to put the winter tires on?

So friends, here I sit in New England with average daily temps in the 40's now. I'm wondering if I put the winter wheels and tires on now, or if I push it another couple of weeks? When do you change over, if you change over?

I just changed them out today. You are just south of me. I pulled the 19" S001's and put on the 18" Pirelli Sottozero II's. With the storm coming and the potential for some winter mix Wednesday night, I did not want to be stuck with summer tires Thursday AM when I have to drive north. The summer tires are also lousy in the low, below or near freezing temps. The Pirelli's are winter performance tires and after a quick test drive, I could hardly tell the difference between them and the summers. Awesome!

I changed them out tonight. Put on a set of 18" Michelin Alpine winter tires.

I am gonna do this Sat. I think I am right on the cusp as I am seeing low temps, though I do think that we are not seeing average temps that are too low overall

They're expecting it to be in the 60s this weekend... I'm gonna hold out a little longer!

I'm in RI and I plan on ordering some winter tires this weekend and putting them on by end of the month. I don't think we will see snow before December, it is supposed to warm up again next week.

I think I am going to go with 17's.

Such an epic Fail tonight... Caught in 4 inches of snow in northern ct.

The stock all seasons were admirable, but didn't go above 50mph.

Had to go straight to town fair tire and get some snow tires, 225/45 LM60's going on tmrw.
$1100 later...

Did fine with the 20" P Zeros on the ride home tonight but kept it slow and easy. Sat can't come soon enough!

Just received my winter set-up from Tire Rack today, but will wait until Thanksgiving weekend unless another storm comes our way.

I'll probably wait until early December to throw my snows on. Here in NJ don't find a need for snows before December or after February.
