Also, an F31 is xDrive in the US. I cannot bear to pay for/drive an xDrive "car" when I live in Texas. If it snows 1 day a year, we all just stay home

I hear you on the leg room though, that would be fantastic with getting the carseats in... and keeping tiny feet off the back of the front seats. |

I realize that this is a 1-2 year problem, but for folks looking for a new car, that have young kids or plan to have more, then it is something that must be considered. We can't all drive around in Z4's, ya know |

Since the introduction of the F30 model lines, reviews have been at best tepid compared to reviews written about previous 3 series models. With that being said, I'm most certain the GT will be well received by consumers and be BMW's finest hour.

Four out of five stars.
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/bmw/3-s...bmw-320d-gt-se
4/5 stars here, vs 2/5 in the telegraph review.. From Telegraph "Verdict: What a disappointment. With a great basis provided by the 3-series chassis and an initially promising body style, BMW has squandered the opportunity to make a highly desirable machine by jacking up the body with all that means to the detriment of ride and handling." From Autoexpress "The 3 Series has always been the most engaging car in its class to drive, so it’s a worry when BMW reveals it has softened up the suspension in the GT to improve comfort. A quick drive is all it takes to reveal the 3 Series hasn’t lost too much of its magic, though – so long as you opt for the three-stage adjustable M Sport dampers (£750). Yes, there’s a fraction more body roll in comfort mode than the saloon, but select Sport and you still get a really crisp turn-in, combined with better-weighted, communicative steering and an agile chassis. The easiest way to allay any fears about the handling is to say it feels a lot like a 3 Series saloon, albeit one that’s lost a fraction of its sharpness. It still grips hard and feels more fun than an Audi A5 Sportback down a twisty road." |

Those of you saying it is far more usable as than a f30 because of the rear seats.... To me the styling is FAR worse than a true wagon with a fraction of the usability. What the SHOULD have done is modified the wagon with slightly larger back seats etc.
It's too goofy to fulfill its primary purpose. You lose tons of storage space with that huge sloped rear hatch. The 5GT is hideous in comparison to the touring and very expensive in my opinion. I just don't understand what BMW is thinking at all. |
