Wow. Couple of things. You need to ask about the quality of the used parts. Parts should be same age or newer and ask about quality and warranty on parts. All used parts have a grade. Ask to see the warranty on the parts, not necessarily the warranty on the repair of the parts. Ask for the estimate on the repair. A lot of times the used parts are not that much less than OEM and some used parts will require prep work. On the other side the used parts have or could have the factory e-coat., assuming not repaired. Then you need to find out if you can file for Diminished Value. Check your policy for exclusions first. Then hire a DV firm and recoup some dollars.
Do not, do not, do not take the car from the shop until it is the way you want it. Look at it inside and outside. Look for orange peel, feel the paint ion all edges, check gaps and operation of vehicle. They will try to get you to leave and bring it back. Resist the temptation. Then sue the bastard. Oh how is your back feeling? |
