Goodies Arrived
9.5 weeks after ordering, I finally got my wheels. 19x9 and 19x10 Forgestars
Initial thoughts - Quality and finish seem great but it's very strange that I don't even know the offsets. I called Forgestar during the production and they said that the fronts would be +35 and the rear would be +45. Mod Bargain's (vendor I purchased through) emailed me while the wheels were on the UPS truck and said that they called Forgestar and the wheels are actually +38 front and +47 rear. I was expecting that the offsets would be recorded somewhere in the box or on the wheel but that's not the case - Strange Second, I ordered gloss gunmetal and I'm not really happy w/ the color. I was definitely expecting a darker 'gunmetal' type of color rather than a gloss grey. The last oddity here is that the 19x9 and 19x10 wheels seem to weigh the same. The 19x9 actually FEELS heavier but the scale doesn't lie I guess. There is still some packaging on the wheel so they are actually 0.3-0.5 lbs lighter than what the scale says. Once I have the tires mounted, I'll weigh them again and compare to the stocks.... I ordered my F14's in the same color. I like the color of your pics, should be a good match for the gray and carbon fiber on my M-Sport.
My 8.5 barrels were on back order, so I just got sent the tracking info yesterday as they are going into production. I too find the offset handling a bit odd. I would assume mine would be the same as yours, I also have 19x10 rear but 19x8.5 fronts. I am hoping to not rub with 245/35 fronts, 275/30 rears with lowering on H&R Sports or something tame like Eibachs.

YES! Been waiting for this thread! You should be able to measure the offsets, and I'd also measure the widths just in case...
Must say I'm not entirely impressed with the texture on that finish. Is it really bumpy?

Well I’ll be a good test dummy on the tire size and drop. I’ll be installing H&R Sport Springs right away and I’m going to start with 255/35 and 285/30 tires. If I have any rubbing, I’ll move down to 245/35 and 275/30. I don’t think you’ll have any issues with the 245 and 275 but we shall see….

I know what you mean on the finish, but its actually good in person. They are smooth to the touch and they don't look bumpy in person. I'm anal and if they were bumpy or the finish was poor, I'd freak out.

Glad the finish is good, even if the color is wrong, or not what you were expecting!

I guess I can give it a shot tomorrow. I'll just have to put an asterik that my number is +/- 2mm which kind of defeats me trying to figure out +45 or +47 for the rear. But I'll give it a shot and let you guys know.

I did get on the calculator on rimsntires.com and messed with the offsets until their backspace matched mine and by that method, the rear offset is 45 or 46 and the front offset is 35 or 36. So basically I have no idea what my offsets are : I have to say that this project is definitely making me feel very annoyed with Forgestar.

Rims look nice, but sorry you are having trouble with the offsets..
I remember when I was getting my rims, I got too aggressive offsets that didn't work..Sucked because I had to return them and they charged me a $200 re-stocking fee.. Hopefully if you have to return you do not encounter that same problem. Hope you can make them work |
