Unhappy Nitrogen valve stem caps...!

I just noticed some loser stole all 4 of my nitrogen valve stem caps. Are people really that desperate? Seriously, just because someone has something nice, you don't need to go ruin it. Get a job!

They were on my car when I ordered and picked it up from the BMW dealer.

If its not nailed down or guarded with a pit bull they'll take it. Wheel center caps are a target too it seems

Got to agree there. BTW, do not pay $$$ to fill your tires with nitrogen. The benefit is slight, other than to those charging you for it at an outrageous profit.

Yes, petty theft is an annoyance! I have the same caps and my dealer gave me free N2 for life (of the car that is). If anyone steals the caps, I will not be inclined to replace them as I barely notice them as it is.

What a benefit! Normal air is only 80% N2

Agreed. Nitrogen is of zero value in a road car. Sorry you were a victim here but anyone that pays for Nitrogen is a victim. I cringe whenever I see those green caps.

A bummer that someone stole your property but I confess I would not trust a dealer who did something as pointless as filling tyres with nitrogen and fear the caps would mark me out as being very gullible and I would then be targeted by timeshare salesmen and others trying to sell me Brooklyn bridge and the like.

An SA's wet dream. It's like a flag to try to sell blinker fluid.

I'm glad I got wheel locks.

I don't care how big or small a theft is, it's still a theft. It's my property and I bought something nice and would like to keep it that way.

So, I don't need to put caps on the tires?

Caps keep the valve clean and help to prevent high-speed pressure loss and core contamination. If you don't use them, let a little air out before checking pressure or filling to clear away any debris. I would not recommend running without them.

just get some cheap ones from Pep Boys or AutoZone etc.

also I hope you check tire pressure more often than every dealer visit.

I went to my local BMW dealer and asked if they would check my tires first, so I can buy the valve caps. The guy pulls out a drawer full of valve caps and found only one green one, but had silver ones that just said nitrogen and put them on for free.

Buy your tires at Costco. Good prices and for $15/tire, you get lifetime rotation and balancing, plus nitrogen fill each time. The prices for nitrogen fills elsewhere are ridiculous.
