Hey I notic d in some of your pics that your fogs are on with just your daytime driving lights. My low beams turn on every time, how did you get it to so that, or did you increase brightness on your parking lights, so they look like daytime driving lights?

I just turn the lights on one switch. Don't use them as DRL's, use them on highways to help me with any pot holes.

Edit: Just realized you said they flicker about 5 minutes after shutdown. I think that's somewhat normal, if you want try out the coding, it might solve it, it might not. But the reason they flicker I believe, is the car starts shutting off terminals 5 minutes after turning off, so one of the "pulses" the car sends, sets it off. You could solve it with the CanBus wires, as it has resistors in it which would prevent such flickering.

On another note, how's the beam pattern? I know this generation allows you to adjust the base of the light to your liking.

Just checked them with the car running. They do flicker as well when they are off, and car is running, not only on shutdown. So when they are off, they are flickering, while I am driving?

Also, what does ABBIEGEL mean in your following code, its to adjust the foglights?

3062 MAPPING_ABBIEGEL_R_PWM_LEVEL_1 -> 100% : Adjusting voltage output for Front Right LED Fog light.
3063 MAPPING_NEBELSCHW_R_PWM_LEVEL_1 -> 100% : Adjusting voltage output for Front Right LED Fog light.

Thought only NSW or NEBELSCHW affects the fogs?

Yeah same here use mine for pothole sighting too.

So with your Horizon Foglight bulb upgrade, thhey didn't ficker when off?

Maybe I might have to switch to those?

Yes so this is an easy upgrade? No flickering when off?

This is an easy upgrade with the wheels turned all the way and coded but might easier if you manage to take the wheels off and code it. But manageable with wheels on. Absolutely no flickering if coded and if used with original Equipment.

Yeah going to go this route if the load resistors don't work out!

If you want to get the BMW LED Fog lights (I am attaching what works for my 435i, Not sure if it's the same on your car; double check the types & sizes) :

Left:
http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-F32-435...hts/ES2711818/

Right:
http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-F32-435...hts/ES2711497/

If you want to simply replace the bulb (Again, check if you have the H8 or H11):

http://www.horizonleds.co.uk/cree-le...og-light-bulbs

or

http://www.horizonleds.co.uk/exterio...-led-headlight

Front Turn Signals (Information from Osram's Vehicle Finder, so double check the information again):

http://am-application.osram.info/en

http://www.horizonleds.co.uk/cree-le...ee-bulbs-amber

Rear Turn Signals / Brake Lights / Reverse Lights:

http://www.horizonleds.co.uk/cree-le...cree-led-bulbs

As for the coding, some might give an error, some might not. Both ways you have to code them.

Reverse Lights:
REM / 3061 / RFS_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG from aktiv to nicht_aktiv
REM / 3061 / RFS_L_WARMUERBERWACHUNG from aktiv to nicht_aktiv
REM / 3061 / RFS_L_IS_LED from nicht_aktiv to aktiv
REM / 3061 / RFS_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG from aktiv to nicht_aktiv
REM / 3061 / RFS_R_WARMUERBERWACHUNG from aktiv to nicht_aktiv
REM / 3061 / RFS_R_IS_LED from nicht_aktiv to aktiv

Turn Signals:
FEM_BODY / 3061 / FRA_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG from aktiv to nicht_aktiv
FEM_BODY / 3061 / FRA_L_WARMUERBERWACHUNG from aktiv to nicht_aktiv
FEM_BODY / 3061 / FRA_L_IS_LED from nicht_aktiv to aktiv
FEM_BODY / 3061 / FRA_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG from aktiv to nicht_aktiv
FEM_BODY / 3061 / FRA_R_WARMUERBERWACHUNG from aktiv to nicht_aktiv
FEM_BODY / 3061 / FRA_R_IS_LED from nicht_aktiv to aktiv

Brake Lights:
REM / 3061 / BR_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG from Aktiv to Nicht Aktiv
REM / 3061 / BR_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG from Aktiv to Nicht Aktiv
REM / 3061 / BR_L_IS_LED from Nicht Aktiv to Aktiv
REM / 3061 / BR_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG from Aktiv to Nicht Aktiv
REM / 3061 / BR_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG from Aktiv to Nicht Aktiv
REM / 3061 / BR_R_IS_LED from Nicht Aktiv to Aktiv
I can't seem to find the turn signal codes on my 14 plat 335d, I've got FRA_V_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG and so on but no FRA_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG. Any ideas why not or if its a different code? I tried changing the FRA_V_L_KALTUBERWACHUNG but didn't help.

Theres another code thats similar called FL_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG, Could that be it?

Thanks

Which module are you coding? FEM or REM? You're looking to code out the front or rear turn signals? I'll double check my car today and let you know!

The FEM body for rear turn signals.

If I were to retro fit would I need a harness? I'm trying to check part diagrams and cant find it. If we have Msport with no fogs do you think the wiring is tucked in somewhere behind the bumper?

Just swapped and coded front/rear turn signal + brake to LED. I noticed that the turn signals will flash an additional time (twice) when unlocking the car compared to halogen bulbs even with cold check off, is this normal?

That I'm unsure of. You need a US spec M Sport owner to chime in.

Hmm, did you also do the IS_LED coding? I don't get any extra blinks when unlocking. Could be the bulb I guess. Which vendor did you get your lights from?

I have done the is_led coding. The front are Philips and rear are from horizon led. It's not a very big deal since they don't flicker and works fine.

Hey - thanks for all the great info in this post, very helpful. I just installed a set of fogs and love them. plug and play, no coding. no errors, but they have some afterglow, meaning after the car's off the fogs are very dimly lit, like 5%. goes off after a while, I'm guessing it's just energy stored up in the adaptor modules.

these are the lights I chose. was going to order from Horizon but it looks like they may have changed their product based on the site pics and I wasn't as confident in the H8 option. also these were much cheaper and US based so much less wait time for me. color and light output is excellent. packaging and product quality is also top notch. I was nervous of getting total junk and these blew me away.

That makes sense, as they'd require capacitors to provide a constant DC, otherwise they'd pulse. Which car did you put them in?

I honestly have no clue. Do they all flicker?

Some CanBus cables / Resistors, and your dimming issue will be solved. Happened to me at first with my first LED fog light kit.

LED will flicker unless you do something to prevent it. That's because the power supplied to halogens isn't constant voltage DC, it's a pulsed wave. Halogens don't react quickly enough to the loss of drive voltage to see the pulses, LEDs do.

They don't flicker, just one additional flash when unlocking.
