Blinking D light?

I was at a traffic light waiting,skipping on the songs saved when I heard the car made that gong sound once but no message was showing on I drive screen HUD or the gauges screen, the D green light in the gear selector was blinking as well as the white box in the gauges screen that has the D written inside it was also blinking, and after few seconds they stopped blinking

did this happen to anyone? what does it mean? I opened the manual in the gear selector pages and I didn't see anything about this

Looks like it was traced to an automatic transmission. Does not appear with 6mt

I had the same issue, though only when i tried to put the car into Park. Also the car had called Park by itself when auto start stop was on and at a stop light.

Dealer traced the problem to the Mechatronics (transmission ECU and valve body) which got replaced under warranty. So far no issues since ive gotten it back in the last week.

My cars not under warranty now, so it's got me a bit worried.
Car needs to go in for an oil change soon, will ask them to check it.

hi, my 2016 f36 begun doing this. a couple weeks ago

When I'm at the stop sign and break, the D indicator on the gauges flashes and does this gong sound. no warning at all. if I start and break again, it would do the same.

as a workaround I engage N, then engage D again with the unlock button pressed and hold the lever until it makes a click.

what did you find?
