What does the "finishing touches" delivery status mean? Is a car in this status at the dealership being prepped? BMWUSA seems to suggest that it isn't yet at dealer, but it also seems unlikely that they would do the finishing touches somewhere else.

Any ideas where it is, what is being done, and how long it takes?

at VPC awating release to carrier. Post shipping prep, last quality check, etc.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is "VPC?" For a west coast delivery, where would VPC be?

VPC vehicle preparation center...where cars go for clean up, etc. when they are taken off boats.

I believe the VDC is in Oxnard, CA near the port where the ships come in. Here's an article about the BMW VDC:

How long after ship docks and unloads to get to " finishing touches" at VPC? My boat came in today and left the port already, BMW USA still shows en Route to the U.S.
