Drivetrain malf. BMS

I got a drivetrain malfunction error when I installed my BMS Stage 1. Here's how stupid I am- I installed it, forgot to connect the Juicebox, rolled about 10 FT in reverse, saw the warning and shutoff the engine. After realizing my stupidity, I attached the JB portion (why was it even off???) and the warning went away. The CEL light is still on the dash, though.

1. Did I do any damage?
2. Will the CEL go off on its own? If not can I clear it?

Disregard, it went off by itself after about 100 miles of driving.

You will probably still have an error code logged and you need to clear that before next BMW service

What is a BT cable? Do I need to hook up a computer? How is it used?

Never seen this before. Interesting. So, since the drivetrain malfunction warning went away, the fault is still stored in my car? Would my warranty really be affected if this fault came up? How would a dealer know this came from a BMS tune vs. naturally (so to speak)?

you dont have to worry about warranty unless they physically find the tune.

you can clear the error codes with any coder in your area, its a 30 seconds process

Thanks mcuh for the reply. So, I can really allow the dealer to remove the code if need be? I don't believe I have any coders in my area unless I drive over to ATL, but then it becomes a $1,500+ trip when the wife hits Phipps Plaza.

yea, just tell them you had this error come up.
i know that this error comes up time to time even without any tunes, and then after scan it wasnt even there

The Stage2 upgrade clears codes, as does a BT cable or BMS CAN Tool.

Mike
Does the stage 2 give error codes that cannot be removed?
Can the stage 2 give the F30 an error code that will constantly appear unless uninstalled?

Just take off BMS tune before you go to dealer. Don't worry too much, enjoy!

No requirements... Just take out the JB during ur next servicing...

What happened to me was the malfunction came out when I removed it for servicing, and went away by itself...

There is no guarantee that there are no error codes or shadow codes unless you scan and delete. Or, you have stage 2 which has code clearing functionality
