Beware "john kurtis" and "halland" scammers

These two accounts are run by the same dude and I'm sure he has more so be safe. Been getting consistent PMs from different accounts all telling me they have exactly what I need and they all give me the same exact phone number to text. Be careful and don't send anyone money unless through paypal.

PayPal or nothing, and if you use PayPal never use the Sending to a Friend payment option, as when you do that you have no buyer protection. If the seller tells you to do so he's a scammer.

PayPal was bought out a little bit ago and has had a few problems. I belong to another Forum (not a car forum) and a Seller (very reputable) was paid through PayPal, he sent the item (internationally) and the Buyer claimed that he was sent an empty box. Even though the Seller provided documented proof that the item was sent, they ruled in the Buyer's favor and now the Seller is out quite a bit (the item was worth over $500). The point is, be VERY CAREFUL when making purchases/selling items and do your diligence in investigating who exactly you are dealing with.

Thank you for the notice for potential scammers. This helps keep all of us safe.

That would be very rare, and I have my doubts, as the shipping record would provide the dimensions and weight of the box. I've been selling using PayPal for almost twenty years, averaging two sales a day, and have never encountered a problem.

Honestly, it was just disclosure. I use PayPal almost exclusively, and have never been burned by them (they were always great at resolving issues), but hearing this made me think about how one could get around it to cheat the system. So my comment was more about reinforcing everyone to make sure that you are dealing with someone reputable and if in doubt, just stop. I don't blame PayPal for what happened in that scenario but I wanted to mention that in the past six months, I've heard more than three issues such as this, whereas before then, I had NEVER heard of issues with PayPal. So either PayPal is getting lax, or the thieves/hustlers are getting smarter.

I'm just trying to look out for our BMW Family and sometimes we just need a reminder to pay attention.
