Blinds or tint?

Just wondering if the rear blinds and rear side blinds are worth it? Do the rear blinds come from the roof liner or from the boot?

Would a window tint be a more cost effective alternative? Is there such a thing as factory tint?(i didnt see it, but might not have found the information)

I am coming from a hatch and just realised that the 328 sedan shape might expose rear passengers more to the overhead hot sun in summer.

Interested in your thoughts while i can still adjust my order.

No blinds...go with tint.

I got the sun shades. I don't like tint at night.

M Sport comes with tint standard in NZ, I went for rear side blinds as well as they're very nicely integrated and ideal for the baby in the back.

Tint and shades.

I did 50% on the rear doors and windows, plus I have the shades. That way I can still see out at night, but get good heat/sun rejection during the day.

Tint. If you are not a tint fan, get light ceramic tint. Still reduces heat, UV, IR without the darkening. Shades are helpful to the passenger and to parts of your interior, but other parts of your deck and door panels are still overexposed to the sun.

Kids like to play with the door shades and over time they'll likely break them.

The rear sun shade rises from the trunk (boot). I've absolutely no regret getting them and they've helped with So Cal sun this past summer. Look is very clean when all are retracted.

Agreed, I used the sunshades all summer. Passengers really like the door shades too.

Did you tint?

Lol, are you really that concerned about the heat your rear passengers may or may not feel during the summer months. "Crack your GD(naughty word) window and stop complaining." That's what my response would be to anyone not sitting in my drivers seat. Ha, just sayin man...tint works just fine

I live in Germany and her the sunshades are perfect. They allow for shade on the modertly hot days without comprimising visibility. That said I am moving back to texas next summer and will put a tint on in addition. IMHO if you live in a very hot area the tint is worth it; if you live in an area that is moderate (i.e. northern US or Northern Europe) the sun shades are more than sufficient.

I would have preferred the blinds but they're a LOT more expensive than tints so I went with tints

I have light tint (40%) and the sunshades and I think it works well. I have kids, so it's nice knowing they are covered during sunny days. It's also nice to be able to see at night.

I've got both OEM dark glass and blinds, and really like it.

I'm still debating doing tint. Night visibility is a concern so I'd end up with something extremely light (high light transmission). These newer ceramic tints with their touted heat reduction ability is of interest. I'm leaning toward staying tintless. Plus, I have no clue which shop to use. Any recommendations? I'm in the San Gabriel valley area of L.A.

I would be interested in a clear tint, that had an extraordinarily high level of heat/UV rejection.

Is privacy glass, no film, from the B pillars and back. It's an option here in Europe at least.

And I've got normal tint on the front door windows, trying to match the rears.
