Can the current $1000 incentive be added to the total lease cost over 36 months, or does this come of the price of the car?

328i M Sport Lease

So here is the offer I am mulling over. 2013 328i M Sport in Estoril Blue. Bluetooth is the only option other than paint and m sport.

MSRP: 42,709
Selling price: 40,295
Acquisition fee: 725
Rebate: 100
Total Cap Cost: 40,020

1st moth pay: 553.35
Fees and insurance: 181.50
Total due at delivery: 734.85

36 months at $553.35
17K miles (2k additional miles per year 0.15) Total Miles Allowed 51K
Money Factor 0.00130
Total residual 24,777

Is this a good deal? The dealer is in PA, as am I, and is marking up the car $500. Or so he tells me.

Looks like a fair deal as long as 58% residual for 15k is correct (I'm not sure about rates for Feb). I get $540/month when I plug your numbers into my spreadsheet. I am assuming 6% new car tax for PA.

Thanks kobechrome. I was informed that the residual on a 2013 328i is 60% after 36 months??

Your residual is 58% based on the numbers you gave me. Might want to ask your dealer about that.

Question - the $1,000 rebate should be applied to the drive off cash, correct? It should NOT be subtracted from the selling price of the car, correct? Wouldn't end up yielding a full $1,000 savings if it were just applied to reduce the selling price.
Wow, that's a pretty good deal. I went to BMW of Manhattan initially and spoke to a CA there who insisted that they weren't able to go anywhere near invoice on a 335i let alone an xdrive. Which CA did you speak to? Are you doing ED? Congrats on your new F30!

So question for you folks. How do you decide which dealer to give your business to? I have two that I've been working. Both extremely helpful.

Dealer A is $300 more than Dealer B. Dealer A is saying I need to put a deposit on the car RIGHT Now to ensure I would get my July delivery (even though he won't submit app to BMW till end of next month). Dealer A is also locking in the $750 Loyalty Bonus, claiming it's good till end of June. Will also include any incentives at the time of paper signing if I'm eligible. Also when I asked about the same price as Dealer B, he said, Good Luck to me, he can't do it, but also said he has done plenty of ED's and hopes he doesn't find first timer that will do the ED, so I would hit a snag and it won't be seamless. Also the tone of that email seemed a bit annoyed. Believe me I ask A LOT of questions. Dealer A is also 2.5 hrs away from me, but my parents live there.

Dealer B is saying this is no rush and we could do it in April. He said he's already checked with BMW (he said he has cross-referenced the actual production weeks, to better accommodate my needs). Then i got an email a couple hours later, saying he has checked and my requested date shouldn't be a problem. Dealer B is NOT including Loyalty Bonus. Says if it's available at the time we sign papers, I will get it along with any other incentives I could be eligible for. Dealer B is local, about 2-3 miles from my house. Dealer B says he's done plenty of ED's and there is NOTHING to worry about.

Dealer A is including the Doc Fees + Acq. Fee + License Fees + Tax in the monthly payment, thus asking only First Payment + Tags + Tax on the rebate.

Dealer B is ONLY including Acq. Fee + Tax in the payment, collecting the Doc Fees + License Fees + Temp Tags + First Payment.

So if i compare them head-on with everything the same, my monthly payment really only differs ~$8 a month (obviously this comes down to the $300 difference in selling price). Over the course of 3 yrs AND given the car's price, this number is totally negligible.

How do you guys choose your dealer?

As I understand it, the BMW credits are only valid for 60 days from signing. So it's plausible the various credits that are available now won't be next month. However I also heard the $750 loyalty will be available till June. Also don't forget that there is a $1000 BMW credit available on 3 series this month.

I've been working with a dealer in Dayton. I signed on 1/2 to get loyalty + holiday credits and as we got closer to March we realized my 335i wouldn't be ready in time so they simply resubmitted my credit app to lock in the February incentives.

With the difference being so small I say go with your local dealer. In theory it shouldn't matter but you might be able to build a reputation with your local dealer and they'll be more flexible on your next BMW purchase 3 years from now.

Yeah. I actually wanted to start the process because I wanted to use that $1000 incentive! However I don't think i'll get it unless it's also being offered between April and July delivery! BTW, here are the numbers I ran. I'm getting close to what they quoted, but want to ensure I ran them correctly...

First Image is from Dealer A. He quoted me price of $43,300 with a monthly of $515.79 with $668.98 due at signing. The payment includes doc fees, acquisition fee, license plates. He said the $668 includes first month's payment, $18.50 tags & tax on the $750 rebate (~$50) - that equates to about $612 with my calculations, so I don't know where the extra $56 is coming from. The payments also include the $750 Loyalty Bonus.

Second image is from Dealer B. He's quoted me price of $43,055 with a monthly of $527 with $865 due at signing. The $865 includes $250 doc fees, $18.50 tags, First Month's Payment, $70 Licence Plate fees. The payment only includes acquisition fees.

Again I'm getting close, but they aren't exact. Anyone else want to run my numbers and see if they check out? Once I get this excel sheet working properly, I can let others have it as well

that 7% rule (off of MSRP to get invoice) seems to work really well when re-reading this thread...

I just bought an active hybrid 3. Got $4000 of sticker $3500 Eco credit and a rebate of $1750. So a total of $9250 off an MSRP of $57200. They are probably the best deal going. I bought an X5 diesel about 6 months ago and got a similar deal. $4200 off sticker a $4500 Eco credit(it's less now) and I think rebate and loyalty was $2250. So almost 11k off.

So there are some good deals out there.

Another question for all:
If I want to do ED for July of this year. What are the odds of me trying to get the MY14 instead of MY13??? From bimmerfest, looks like production of MY14 335i in Munich will start 7/13 and end in 6/14.

I think it would be an added bonus if this could happen I know the 4-series production will start in July, but getting one that early is just an impossibility at this point.

Not gonna happen. The BMW NA ED group "approves" model year pickups after a certain date. For example, if MY2014 goes into production July 1, they may not approve any scheduled ED's until August 15th.

Thank you. I plan to do a trip report & a nice write up of my experience. Still a long way to go, but right now am finalizing my options & my itinerary. I was already going to go EU in July, the ED will be a very good added bonus!

First of all I am one of those people who first signed the order sheet and then realized there are forums out there that people share their experiences, prices, etc.. I am grateful for people who are posting on these forums.

I have a unique situation...

I ordered a 335i RWD + Sapphire Black Metallic + Sports Line + Premium Package + Enhanced Bluetooth. MSRP: $49,145. Invoice (bmw.config): $45,770. My purchase price: $47,145. Delivery is supposed to be mid-April.

Yes, I over paid as opposed to those who paid at invoice or $500 over invoice. However, before I ordered my 335i, I ordered a 328i without lighting pakage (what was I thinking???) back in January. I put down $1,000 deposit. The dealers in Dallas barely had any inventory due to an excellent December and they were not willing to do any invoice. I was very peculiar with my color and packages so I had no choice but to order one at $1,000 over invoice. After waiting 8 weeks, my car was at the dealership. Once the car came in to the dealership, I asked myself halogen lights??? really??? so I changed my mind and told my dealer that I am not buying the car and instead I wanted to buy a 335i. Well, they did not have the 335i that I wanted so it would have to be ordered, but they had only one slot. Same day they told me that they would give me that slot if I agree on transferring the discount that they gave me on 328i and not a dime more. Well the $1,000 over invoice on 328i became $1,400 over invoice on 335i. But I got to transfer my deposit and was able to order a 335i on the same day and the car went into production a week after. Had I dealt with a dealer from a different city or had I picked the ED just because of the attractive ED MSRP, I would not be able to make these changes that easily or I might have lost my deposit.

Long story short...The month matters when buying a car. In January and February most dealers do not have much inventory. They are building one. The deals are scarce. Therefore, they are not willing to sell the car at invoice. Plus, they still have 11 months to meet their annual sales quotes. I realize there are exceptions, but I heard mostly this is the case.

A lot of people focus on the price and misses the fact that this is also a service industry and having a good relationship with a sales rep who thinks he is making a good profit margin from you comes in handy when you need to make changes or have special requests. You can even get a better loaner when you take your car to the service because they know you. I also believe the best dealer is the one that is closest to you.

If I had to buy another 3 series BMW, I would do it ED instead of calling 5 different US dealerships in order to save $500-$900. The ED option could have saved me $2,000 to $3,000 but most importantly I would have the chance to take a vacation out of it.

I'm a newbie here and recently ordered my first BMW. I'm deployed to Afghanistan and am buying through the MSP (Military Sales Program). I may be wrong, but I think the MSP is hard to beat, you tell me. Here's what I'm getting:

335i Sedan-$38,000
Min Grey-$550
Sport Line-$1700
Premium Pkg-$2200
Delivery-$895

Total-$43,345

Purchasing, not leasing, and financing through my local credit union at 1.75% APR. It's in the paint shop right now and is expected to be delivered around mid May, right when I get home!

You are paying above invoice on the options ($50 on mineral grey, $150 more on sport line, and $200 more on premium package), but looks like you are $1,700 under invoice on the base price of the car ($38k vs $39,700). Do you have a MACO or Training Fee as well? If not, that's another $300 and $180 savings, respectively, from NY pricing.

Congrats!

Thanks Surefoot. No MACO or Training Fee, $43,345 is the bottom line. The only other cost is my blood pressure increase due to the anxiety of playing the waiting game! 68 days and counting until I head home!
