Evaluating F30 335i purchase

Hi everyone. I have been spending countless days on finding a decent used F30 335i. Found one but have some reservations. Hoping you can help me with some of this:

The dealer says it has 21,000 miles but if you look at the carfax I attached, that is all it shows. Back at 15,000 miles and from 2015! Kind of strange.

The steering wheel looks pretty weathered at 21,000. All the others I looked at in this range were pristine. Can this happen at this mileage?

Is it possible to roll back f30's odometer?

I'm buying from out of state so I need assurance of this purchase. Thanks guys.

the odometer reading of 15,000 miles was done 2 years ago.

the condition of my steering wheel looked similar to that when i purchased my car too and mine had only 26K miles. i think it's just the nature of the leather of those steering wheels. correct me if i'm wrong, anyone.

My steering wheel looked like that when I bought my car at 14k miles. Looks even worse now (24k). Shouldn't there be an entry in the Carfax report for when the selling dealer acquired the car and listed it for sale? That should state the current mileage.

That's what I thought was the strange part about the carfax. Mileage should have been recorded at the last title issue.

Thanks for the input guys. Wish me luck, might pick this up.

I can't see anything compelling about that car which would cause me to buy it in California from Georgia. I have bought several cars by long distance, but only if I could pick it up in person. There's no way I'd buy a $30k BMW from a non-BMW dealer sight unseen and then have it shipped coast to coast.

Sage advice. I am probably not going to bite. After taking some time, the sight unseen part of the purchase I can't shake off. Search continues : (

So hard to find the right one for my budget!

That thing that you see in the steering wheel its just disgusting hand dirt. A good detailing/leather cleaner should take care of that.

that steering wheel has very thin leather which wears quickly. it also depends on how the original owner gripped the steering wheel and how he maintained the leather.

this is what my steering wheel looks like (not my car) at 75k miles, my leather is getting worn but It's because I have thicker dakota leather.

seeing how quickly the 3 steering M sport wheel wears out, I would not want that thin leather in my car.

Sorry, you're mistaken. The leather on the M Sport steering wheel is some of the nicest leather BMW uses and it isn't thin by any stretch of the imagination.

I agree you should pass on this one. Be patient, the right car is out there for you. It took me 1 month of agony and 2 cars that were sold out from under me to find my 335.

I'm sure it's nice leather, but how can you possibly be okay with leather that looks so worn at 20k miles? Imagine how it would look like with 100k? 200k?

The M-Sport steering wheel may be a high quality leather, but it's designed with a completely smooth finish, so it looks cheap (and feels cheap) in my opinion. It also shows every blemish, imperfection and grime.
