18" Tires advise

Can I put 225/40/18 on front and 235/40/18 on the rear?

Currently square set up of 225/40/18 with 397 18” x 8’ wheels?

OEM diameter = 26"
225/40/18=25.1"
235/40/18=25.4"

you can put on a smaller diameter, but why? although dig acceleration will improve from shortened gearing and smaller sidewall will have quicker turn-in response, it will be less comfortable, increase fenderwell gap 0.3-0.5" from OEM, requiring lowering and increase speedo/odometer error where speedo will read higher than actual and odometer will accrue more mileage than actual.

on 18x8 397's the tire sizes i'd use are 235/45/18(26.3"), 245/40/18(25.7"), or OEM size 225/45/18(26.0")
.

definitely 245/40/18 or 235/45/18 for the red 335i. i'd probably do 245/40/18 for max grip

If the red pic is current, those tires are the stock size, 225/45/18

235/45/18s all round on both 18x8 405Ms (Goodyear Assym 6s as summers) and 18x8 397s (Goodyear Vector Gen3 all seasons for winters)

405Ms:

397s:

Don't waste your time with staggered tyres on a straight set of wheels; just go one size wider than OEM so they're not stretched

235s offer a straighter sidewall better rim protection and better tyre contact patch with the road!

Thank you

Even better now I've just had a full suspension overhaul on it; every single piece replaced bar 2 of the rear arms

Sits perfectly now on the new Bilstein shocks & Eibach springs
