Well, DINAN's info shows the N20 module increasing hp by 30, from 262 to 290 hp... while their stock N55 measured 340 hp, 50 hp more than a tuned N20. The factory rating shows a 60 hp delta between the engines - I'm not sure what it would take to boost an N20 by 60 hp, but I suspect it would be more than just a tune/piggyback. So even with this device, you're getting nowhere near 335i level performance.

After speaking with Brandon from Dinan I have decided to go full stage 3 with bigger turbo, intercooler, exhaust and the stage 3 ecu.

Be sure to post up the results when done.

(Does anything need to be done with the fueling system or injectors for that?)

Mine is in this same spot.

also,

Update:
The tune likes to randomly throw codes time to time. If you all recall approximately 9 months ago, I had a drivetrain malfunction and went limp mode before. I took it out immediately and left it disconnected till the next day and everything was normal again.

Just recently (last week), I got a CEL and scanned it returning a code saying that my boost pressure was too high. I again, unplugged the tune immediately and left it off the remainder of the day. CEL turned off, plugged it in the following day and have had no issues.

I have had this tune for almost year by next month. So far I have loved it, both the performance gain, the ease of installation, and the accesibility changing the modes via bluetooth (also glad that they have updated the interface recently). Just be aware that the tune may throw codes.

I just went into service 2 weeks ago with mine attached and they didn't say a peep to me.

I did mine with a velcro wrap just in case I needed to quickly remove it.

Just wanted to give an update because I have been very happy with the product. 1.5 years and probably 12k miles of running in "Race" mode(93 octane), and not a single problem. Daily driven in rush hour traffic, with autocross on the weekends.

I usually take mine off before I take it to dealer for any servicing, forgot recently and tech brought it up to SA. My SA said BMW sent out a bulletin about documenting cars that come in with any tunes. Thankfully my SA said it was cool and he'd not put anything in my cars notes.

I was happy with mine until it started throwing CELs when connected right at about a year since purchase. Tried to contact Dinan support about it 4 separate times over 2 or so weeks. No response. Guess they looked at my order number and figured if they wait they don't have to help me since I'll be over a year since purchase.

I don't get it. Whenever I call them they pick up or call me back.
Or did you just email?

Yea... I'm really disappointed in Dinan. When I first bought the thing it was DOA. when I contacted their support, which again took a few tries before I got someone, they finally did an RMA. On the call they were just like yea just send it back to us and we'll send you out a new one, okay thanks for calling.

Me: so uhhhh are you going to send me a shipping label or am I going to have to pay to ship it to you? Where do I even ship it to?
Them: oh uh yea I guess I can send you a shipping label.

Like really? You're going to do an RMA but it's not even in your mind to, I dunno, tell the customer some shipping information.

I spent $100 more than the BMS JB+ for Bluetooth that I've used once. Or I could've spent $80 and went with the BMS Stage 1 and I would've probably been way happier. Guess this was a $300 lesson.

Thats a shame.
I dont know if times have changed or what but..
I used to own a MK5 GTI and spent alot of time on the forums from 08-2013 or so. Vendors would actually get on the forums and join in on the conversations, products, and provide great CS and help when needed. There were a lot of great debates between vendors, say APR, BSH, Forge, etc that led not only to good competition but also great education for the community.

How DINAN's own thread is not being followed by them puzzles me. They should be reading these posts, ready to jump in and assist.
